Best Plumping Lip Glosses for Mature Lips
Has your once juicy pout turned into two dry, shriveled lips? That’s the way it seems to be going with me. Oh, the joys of aging -Lol!
I’m leery of lip injections because I don’t want fishy lips. Instead, I rely on really good plumping lip glosses to restore some youthful volume. Today, I’m sharing some of the best plumping lip glosses I’ve found, as well as a few others with glowing reviews.
Best Plumping Lip Glosses for Mature Lips
1. City Lips Plumping Lip Gloss from City Beauty
One of my favorite volume boosters is the City Lips Plumping Lip Glosses. I’d heard the hype, had to try them, and I love the results. City Lips has a unique formula that includes Jojoba Oil, Ylang-Ylang Flower, and Hyaluronic Acid spheres, which deeply hydrate and help reduce the look of my lip wrinkles. The two things I like best about City Lips glosses are how super thick and luscious they feel on your lips, and the colors! I find their glosses more deeply pigmented, even opaque, although their clear gloss is amazing, too.
The only thing you have to be careful about is that because they are thick, they can get a bit gooey. Don’t overapply, or the gloss will end up on your teeth. A little goes a long way, and the look is beautiful. City Lips glosses come in 18 shades and are slightly more pricey than some at $35 each.
Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Lip Plumper
2. Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Lip Plumper
The best-selling Too Faced Lip Injection plumps lips from the very first swipe and continues to volumize and smooth over time with daily use. Lips appear full and pouty, and this formula can be used over lipstick, in addition to another lip gloss, or alone. This lip gloss is your best bet if you’ve wanted fuller lips without needles. I like that it immediately begins to go to work, tingling at the first swipe. I prefer to buy the clear shade and layer it over my favorite lipstick. Too Faced Lip Injection comes in five shades and two sizes and costs $29.
3. Maybelline Lifter Gloss
Hyaluronic acid, the secret to lubrication and locking in moisture, is the key and active ingredient in Maybelline’s Lifter Gloss. Besides the great plump, I love the way this lip enhancer gives an ultra-glossy finish. I also like the extra large want because it glides easily over your lips, and you don’t get any clumpiness. Bonus: This gloss has 15 shades and a great price point of $11, so I can buy a few and keep one in my purse, by my desk for Zoom calls, at my makeup table, and I don’t have to worry about losing one, which I somehow always seem to do. (Lol!)
Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Lip Gloss
4. Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Heat Luminizer and Plumper
This is on my list of must-tries because a friend of mine uses it and swears by it. For fans of Fenty’s Gloss Bomb lip gloss comes the Gloss Bomb Heat Luminizer and Plumper. I’m told it delivers everything you love about Gloss Bomb and a lot more. It has a hint of tint and, once applied, gives you a gentle warming and tingling sensation. I like products with interesting natural products. This plumping gloss uses ginger root, and the extract of peppers to plump your pout, and shea butter is used to hydrate it. There are 6 shades to choose from, and the price is $26. I’ve heard great things about Fenty by Rhianna, so it’s definitely worth a try.
Charlotte Tilbury Collagen Lip Bath Lip Glosses
5. Charlotte Tilbury Collagen Lip Bath
I am a huge fan of Charlotte Tilbury! I use many of her glowy products, like her luxurious lipsticks and juicy glosses, including the Charlotte Tilbury Collagen Lip Bath plumping lip glosses. They are the real deal. These glosses are high-shine and sheer with some gorgeous sparkle to them. They come in nine iconic shades and always give me a glowy, glam look. If you’re looking for a full pout, I’d say try it! You’ll get moisturizing and plumping ingredients in each tube for $35. My favorite shade is Refresh Rose. One other fun note: This gloss has an adorable heart-shaped wand!
Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump
6. Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump
I always like a plump, but sometimes I’m not always after that dripping wet lips look, and that’s when I reach for Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump. I would say it’s a bit more natural than some. And, obviously, it’s popular. This no-needle plumping formula has a cult following with women of all ages. I do love the ease of the pen over the wand, which gives you the perfect amount of gloss each time you apply it. For an even fuller lip look, you can also start by lining your lips with their juicy Maracuja lip liner, which I use and is also very good. The Lip Plumper is $26, and the liner is $22.
7. Lawless Forget the Filler Lip Plumper
If a plumping gloss that’s vegan and cruelty-free is on your list, Lawless’ Forget The Filler is for you. With patented MAXI-LIP technology, this gloss has been scientifically and clinically proven to increase lip volume by 40%. This high-shine formula also contains rosehip oil to keep your lips pillowy and soft. One of the gals here on the team at Fabulous After 40 uses this and says she loves the contoured brush on this gloss because it hugs your lips and gives a really even application. This popular lip plumper comes in 9+ shades, has a shimmer finish, and comes in three sizes: regular, value, and travel. It costs $26.
8. Physician’s Formula Diamond Plumper
Here’s an excellent option if you are budget-conscious. I had a sample of the Diamond Plumper lip gloss from Physician’s Formula sent a year ago, and I’m impressed at how good it is. It hydrates, plumps, moisturizes, and conditions all for under $8. The shine you get from this gloss is great because it is blended with Lustrous Diamond Dust to give lips a gemstone diamond-like shine. It is also a great option for sensitive skin and lips since Physician’s Formula prides itself on creating products with high-quality ingredients that are hypoallergenic, talc-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, and cruelty-free. I love the cute diamond-shaped container, too!
Patrick Ta Major Volume Lip Gloss
9. Patrick Ta Major Volume Plumping Lip Gloss
This one is next on my list to try because of all the rave reviews. Celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta is famous in the beauty industry for boosting confidence and making everyone feel beautiful. His stunning range of products makes you look like a star at home! Everyone loves his Major Volume Plumping Lip Gloss – a paraben-free formula that uses ginger and cinnamon to stimulate blood flow to the lips for a quick pillowy pout. This hydrating lip gloss has Vitamin E for shine and Jojoba oil, which smooths and hydrates. I love that this gloss comes in two formulations: sheer gloss that can be worn alone or layered on top of lipstick and a rich gloss that has more pigment and is intended to be worn alone. This shade called “Need Her” looks beautifully natural. The price? $26.
