Easter is about spring and rebirth, so it’s natural to want to breathe new life into your wardrobe with a pretty, Easter dress. Early morning church services, followed by the traditional Easter egg hunt and a special family brunch or dinner are all good reasons to want to dress up. Here’s a look at what’s trending in fresh and pretty Easter dresses for women this spring.
Floral Easter Dresses are Always in Style
No need to wait for April showers to bring May flowers – you can enjoy them now in a pretty floral dress. I’m always surprised to find some women who still associate the word ‘florals’ with ‘little old lady.’ Today’s florals are anything but dowdy and aging. They’re creative, interesting and sometimes even a little edgy.
How to choose a modern floral: Having said that, there are things you should take into account when choosing a floral. For example, one hip and more modern way to go is to choose a statement floral like you see in this gorgeous sheath dress. See the way the pattern winds around? There is nothing dowdy here. A lace dress is always lovely and ladylike, and these elbow length bell sleeves also give it a modern touch.
Yay! A dress with sleeves: It’s really hard to find a modest dress with sleeves that looks youthful and fresh like this. I think this is the perfect dress for some many other occasions too this spring. Can’t you just see it on Mother’s Day, at a wedding or your child’s graduation? This is a dress you will get a lot of use out of, and that’s hard to find these days!
Here’s another option. This pretty blue floral dress would be very appropriate for church and other dressy functions. This striking blue floral sheath feels as fresh as a spring garden.
About the blush suede pumps: I could have gone the basic route and accessorized this dress with nude shoes, but these stunning pink suede pumps pick up on the pink flowers in the pattern and take this dress from nice to wow! The shoe I picked is unadorned and classic, so as not to compete with the busy floral pattern, but the textured suede paired with the dress’s smooth scuba knit fabric creates an interesting contrast.
Why I chose this bag: The bag is just a tad lighter blush that the shoes to give the shoe a little more emphasis. I also like the structured look which makes it more formal and ladylike than a soft bag. The dress bag and shoes are a beautiful blend that is super feminine and romantic.
The nice thing about the shoes and bag is these days this pretty blush color is considered a neutral just as white, tan or cream is. You can wear blush with so many colors, and it really looks fabulous. I have a blush bag, and it’s such a nice change from tan. It takes me right through the summer and looks especially wow when I pair it with white or black.
Maxi Easter Dresses are Popular
Are you a romantic? This ethereal chiffon easter maxi dress makes me swoon! The soft floral pattern here reminds me of a French Impressionist watercolor painting. The floaty fabric and pretty neckline are so romantic and feminine, and the belted waistline is a figure-flattering touch.
Also perfect for an outdoor wedding! It’s a beautiful dress for Easter or any special occasion..one, in particular, comes to mind and that is an outdoor wedding. I get a lot of gals writing to me saying they are going to a garden wedding or a beach wedding or a destination wedding and they have no idea what to wear. Couldn’t you just see this down out in the garden or down by the water at a warm weather destination?
Why this bag? When it comes to selecting accessories, pick up on one of the colors in the dress. Here I’ve gone with lavender, one of the colors of the season, for the bag. It’s a nice gentle color which complements the softness and lightness of the chiffon.
A tip about the right shoes for chiffon: The gold sandals are especially pretty. I think it is important to have a very pretty, elegant shoe when you’ve got the high-low hemline going on because everyone is going to be looking at that hemline and your shoes. The fine ankle and single toe strap give this shoe a refined and delicate look, which is important to balance the light, airy chiffon dress. Anything too heavy busy or chunky would overpower and weigh down this angelic dress.

Yellow Easter Dresses are a Spring Favorite
Yellow is one of the official colors of Easter, but it’s also in the fashion spotlight this year. Yellow is the color of hope, happiness, freshness, and energy and there is a yellow for everyone.
A Shift dress is figure flattering: This pretty yellow shift is easy to wear especially if you have a bit of a midlife middle, because it is cut a little wider at the waist so that it falls straight down. I love the detail and the scalloped hem. It’s really a charming dress!
Wear white with yellow: One tip when you’re wearing spring yellow is to keep the look soft and simple. Light colored accessories won’t weigh down a yellow dress down the way black would. Yellow looks particularly fresh and springlike with white.
Blue Easter Dresses are Cheerful and Fresh
When in doubt wear blue, but not just any blue. For Easter and springtime, a beautiful warm sky blue (sometimes called Easter Egg blue), not only uplifts your spirits but can add a pretty glow to your complexion which probably hasn’t seen the sun in a while if you live up north.
There’s a surprise about this classic dress: This dress is simple, but simple doesn’t have to mean boring. Check the links at the bottom of the post to get a closer look, and you will see that this dress has gorgeous slit sleeves that give it that modern spark.
So many shoe options: A nude shoe is a great way to elongate your silhouette and add the illusion of height. These shoes make the outfit very conservative; however, since the dress is a solid color and a very minimalist style, you could absolutely go for a more wow shoe. I can see gorgeous floral pumps with this dress or a lace-up pump, or even a shoe with some pretty embellishment. The nice thing is the dress is such a clean slate that you can accessorize ( shoes, bag, jewelry) many different ways depending on your mood.
I hope these Easter Sunday dresses have got you excited about Spring and have given you a little inspiration for what to wear. Which is your favorite? (I’d say the first one is mine!)
Happy Easter and I hope the Easter Bunny is Good to You!
