5 Pretty Easter Dress Ideas for Women Our Age

Hi Ladies! Easter is almost here, and since it’s a time of joy, renewal, and celebration,  it’s natural to want to breathe new life into your wardrobe with a pretty Easter dress.

Finding just the right one that is modern and figure-flattering takes a bit of hunting, so I’ve made it easy. Here are 5 Easter dress outfit ideas, perfect for women over 40,50,60, to look fabulous this Spring.

1. Chiffon Easter Dresses

Early morning church services, followed by the traditional  Easter egg hunt and a delicious family brunch, are all good reasons to want to dress up. One of my favorite types of dresses at Easter is something Chiffon. This gorgeous peach blouson sleeve dress is just what I’m talking about.  It’s light and pretty with a fresh, feminine feel that’s perfect for this time of year.  A loose tie belt makes it easy to wear, and the pretty keyhole neckline with a touch of ruffle elevates the look.

I’ve paired it with a ladylike floral print bag and strappy, easy-to-walk-in sandals. Just peachy!

2. Floral Easter Prints

No need to wait for April showers to bring May flowers. Spring is the season of blooms and what better way to celebrate Easter than with a floral dress?  Choose a dress with a subtle floral pattern or a bold floral print. Anything in bright pink or multiple shades of pink will be right on this season, thanks to the Barbicore trend.  Midi and maxi lengths are also fashionable for the daytime.

Complete the look with casual canvas, rope sandals, and simple gold jewelry. If you have always wanted a pink purse, now is the reason to have one! This Tory Buch bag is fabulous!

I’m always surprised to find some women who still associate the word ‘florals’ with ‘little old lady.’ Today’s florals are anything but dowdy and aging. They’re romantic, modern, and beautiful.

3. Pastel Easter Dresses

Easter is all about pastels, so why not choose a pastel-colored dress? A light lavender, pink, or pale yellow dress can be a perfect choice for mature women, especially if it has a modern silhouette like this ethereal chiffon dress.

I love this soft Kentucky Blue shade and romantic Bishop sleeves ( Hallelujah, a dress with sleeves),  but it’s unique in another way too.  Look closely, and you will see gorgeous micro pleats running down the front – a very  classy detail and a popular trend.

White always looks right with pastels, so get some summery white shoes and a bag. Then, splurge on a pair of fun pastel earrings for a festive Easter look.

I’m just thinking, if you have a Christening to attend at Easter or a spring wedding, this would be a perfect dress for that too!

4. Maxi Easter Dresses

Easter is when you want something pretty and often more modest, so that you might think about a maxi dress for a change. This stunning green wrap dress is a beauty and is so figure-flattering.

I love the gorgeous green color that is as fresh as spring grass. (Green is a top Spring color!) It looks fabulous paired with these adorable straw and pearl sandals, a wicker tote, and pearl earrings. I love that combo of natural and elegant. It’s such an interesting, fashion-forward mix that says; I’m casual but classy.

5. Wrap Style Easter Dresses

Speaking of wrap dresses, let’s talk about them a bit more. If you want an Easter dress you know you will wear again and again in other settings, get a wrap dress. I don’t know of any other dress that is so feminine and versatile.

This pretty blue one is a midi, the most popular dress length these days. You can wear this from Easter dinner to work, to a baby shower, or to a wedding. It works for everything. Just change out your accessories to suit the occasion.

I hope these Easter Sunday dresses have excited you about Spring and given you a little inspiration for what to wear. Which is your favorite? (I’d say the #3 is mine just because the pleats are so different)

Happy Easter (coming up soon), and I hope the Easter Bunny is Good to You!

  1. Where did you find the blue floral sheath with a half-sleeve? I would love it for my daughter’s spring wedding.

  2. Hey Deborah, great advice. Question…what is a rule of thumb when wearing florals over 50? Is it more oversized florals more appropriate or smaller? Thanks?

    1. Hi Sandra, Tiny florals are aging and are not really in style. The size of the florals should be in scale with your proportions. For example, a petite woman will drown in large florals-so she should choose small to medium. A medium-size woman can wear small to large prints. A full-figured woman looks best in medium-sized photos. Small and large florals will exaggerate a large frame.

    1. Me to. I used coupons code for clothing, and it’s the perfect way to save big. Last week I bought some outfits for summer and got 60% off using a coupon code.

  3. Thank you for this infusion of all things spring. Pretty dresses with sleeves, blush accessories, yes, yes! I’m craving florals and the lightness of spring.

It's your life. Make it Fabulous!
