How to Style an Oversized Shirt
Hi Ladies, Do you like the chic look of an oversized shirt but need help styling one?
I never thought this type of shirt was for me since I’ve always felt more comfortable in fitted tops. But recently, my curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to give this look a go. Check out my new oversized shirt and three ways I styled it.

1. Oversized Shirt Buttoned
I thought wearing the loose and baggy shirt would make me look wide and sloppy, but I was wrong.
This chic Popover shirt from French Connection is beautifully tailored to sit nicely on your shoulders, fall straight down, and flare out. It’s shorter in the front and longer at the back, which gives an artsy look.
If you play around with the shirt enough, you can make it look quite chic. Roll up the sleeves, unbutton it a bit, and pop the collar. Then, stand up straight and walk. The shirt will flow behind you!
I’m wearing my popover shirt with these cool raw-hem L’agence jeans. These jeans are long and flared, so I need heels. These cork sandals make my legs look extra long, which makes the shirt look more balanced.

2. Oversized Shirt Tied in the Front
You can always tie the shirt if it is swallowing you up. I pulled it to the center at the back, tucked it in, and then tied it in the front. You don’t need to worry about getting it perfect. That loose, semi-baggy look is what makes the outfit look relaxed.
This time, I’m wearing it with Spanx cropped wide-leg pants. I love the easygoing, modern vibe of this look.
My jewelry is from Dean Davidson’s Nomad Collection. The necklace is hammered gold and Tiger’s Eye, and I love how perfectly it matches the wide tan stripes. A big shirt with big stripes calls for a chunky necklace, and this one is perfect.

3. Oversized Shirt Worn Open Like a Jacket
Another popular way to style an oversized shirt is to wear it open like a jacket. However, you couldn’t do this with a true popover shirt because it wouldn’t have buttons all the way down the front. A true popover has just two or three buttons—enough to open the shirt at the chest.
This popover shirt has buttons al the way up, but they are hidden, making the shirt appear as if it is a popover. You can also get this shirt in a few other colors!
Under the shirt, I’m wearing a stretchy microfibre tank. The wide-leg jeans with those cute patch pockets are from Talbots.
