Chico’s New Arrivals Styled For You!
Where do you shop for clothes when you are 40, 50 or 60? Today, I’m continuing my series Styled for You, highlighting the best brands for midlife women and sharing their newest Fall arrivals. So far, I’ve talked about Loft and J.Crew. Today, it’s Chico’s!
Chicos’s began in 1983 on Sanibel Island, Florida, and was started by Helen Gralnick to help women our age stay stylish. Now, it’s a huge chain that also owns White House, Black Market, and Soma.
Chico’s style is BOLD and FUN, with lots of color, pattern, and fabulous accessories. To me, their message is – Go for it! Express yourself at 40,50,60 in clothes that bring you confidence and joy!
Fun Fact– Chico’s was named after Helen’s friend’s pet Parrot- Chico! Here’s a look at what’s new for Fall and what Chico’s is famous for.

Statement Leather
One of the themes you’ll see running through Chico’s Fall collection is Faux Leather. This is something Chico’s always does well. Instead of offering your typical moto jacket, they usually have something slightly different.
This season, it’s this elegant, long, burgundy jacket with intricate cutout details at the chest and sleeves. If you want a statement piece to wow, this is it.
Print Tops
Print tops are another thing that Chico’s is known for. You can find print blouses at most stores, but Chico’s is where I know I can always find a cute print sweater or tee when I’m tired of solid colors or stripes.
This one has a beautiful painterly look, and the color mix is gorgeous! It’s been designed to work perfectly with the jacket, making shopping much easier. Chic’s fabulous wide-leg jeans round off this classy, lively outfit.

Detail and Embellishment
Style is in the details at Chico’s. You can always find clothing with embellishments or trendy accents. For example, this pretty pearl embellished sweater with its modern, twisted strand design. Pearl and jewel sweaters are always popular this time of year as the holiday season approaches, but some can look quite dated.
I give Chico’s high marks for taking classic favorites like a pearl sweater and reinventing them in creative ways.
To give this sweater an urban chic vibe, we’ve paired it with black faux leather pants, a black quilted bag, and these one-of-a-kind booties with hammered metallic heels. Pearls and black leather make for an edgy party look!

Creative Color Combinations
Chico’s is not afraid to experiment with different color combinations, often making an outfit look more fashion-forward. This bold taupe, black, and purple outfit is a good example. Taupe cropped leather pants combined with a classic black sleeveless top are topped off with this funky, abstract jacket in an unusual crushed fabric. The result is a very artsy look.
Artsy Shoes and Jewelry
Chico’s is also famous for their unique, head-turning accessories that get you noticed. These loafers, for example, are quite dramatic. In true Chico’s style, more is more!

Classics with a Creative Twist
I’ve been talking a lot about how creative many of Chico’s clothes are, but classic types can find pieces that work, too. This houndstooth jacket, for example, is quite traditional, but just a touch of faux leather at the collar gives it a subtle, updated look.
Pair the jacket with jeans and some loafers you may already own, and you have a classic with a small twist.

Great Selection of Jeans
Speaking of Jeans, that is another thing Chico’s is well-known for. I have owned many pairs of their pants and jeans, and they never disappoint. There is always a wide selection, and they have the most current styles like these high-waisted flares. Pair them with one of Chico’s many pretty statement blouses for a Bold, youthful look.
One note about Chico’s sizing in general. They follow a different sizing system that starts at 000 ( x-tra small) and goes to size 4 (Xtra, extra large). I’m normally a size 6, which translates into a size 0 at Chico’s. Be sure to check their sizing charts to get the perfect fit!
