Glamorous Kaftan Beach Coverups

I’ve always loved the glamorous look of a loose, flowy Kaftan. So, when I was searching for a beach coverup and happened upon these, I instantly fell in love. Today, I’m sharing three gorgeous Kaftan dresses and why every woman needs one!

When you want to feel comfy, keep cool, and look sophisticated in summer, there’s nothing as lovely as a beautiful Kaftan. My friend calls her Kaftan her Goddess Gown, which I couldn’t agree with more.

My new color block, Kaftan, makes me feel like a movie star!

Life can be practical and routine at times. It’s a thrill to shake things up by wearing something with a bit of drama, like a Kaftan, to the beach, to dinner, to a special event, or even just in the comfort of your own home.

Remember how Caftans were Elizabeth Taylor’s signature look?  Ali McGraw also comes to mind as a famous Kaftan wearer as she ages gracefully. Did you know Hilary Clinton has even worn Kaftans to weddings?

This  bold graphic print Kaftan is a stunning beach coverup. It’s breezy and flowy like a flag, and protects you from the sun while keeping you nice and cool.  The peek-a-boo keyhole neckline makes it rather alluring, too.

What is the difference Between a Kaftan and a MuuMuu?

Are you wondering what the difference is between a Kaftan and a muumuu? Think of a MuuMuu as the Hawaiian cousin of the Middle Eastern Kaftan. It’s very similar in that it is a long robe with loose sleeves.

MuMu actually means “cut off” ― a reference to the original garment’s yoke-less neckline. But these days, a muumuu is any loose robe-type dress.

Artsy Kaftan

Here’s the same elegant Kaftan but in a deep ocean-blue wave print. It’s so artsy that I feel like I am wearing a painting!

This Kaftan is excellent for travel because it’s so thin and lightweight that you can roll it up in a ball and toss it in your suitcase. Then, at your hotel, wear it lounging on the balcony or out by the pool. (*luggage here)

Grecian-Inspired Kaftan

Here’s another one of my Kaftans. This Indigo Kaftan has a striking blue and white print that reminds me of Greece. It looks fabulous at the beach but I wear it at home too.

It’s great to slip on when I get out of the shower and sit down to blow dry my hair and do my makeup.

It’s also dreamy to lounge around in at night while reading a book, watching Netflix, or waiting for my beauty face mask to dry!

How to Style a Kaftan

Are you planning a BBQ with friends? Kaftans can be worn as summer dresses and are perfect when you are hosting friends or when you are a guest at a pool party!

When choosing accessories to wear with a Kaftan, go big. I chose dangly, oversized hammered gold statement earrings to balance out the wide flowy look. Then I added sexy flat strappy sandals, and some glamorous dark sunglasses. A huge cocktail ring doesn’t hurt either, dahling!

Be bold, have fun, and try a Kaftan this summer as a beach coverup or for anything else. Your inner goddess deserves it!

  1. You look gorgeous, but I can’t carry this look off. And living in Florida, I could only wear it in winter!

    1. Hi Linda! Thank you for the lovely compliment. I have a place in Florida, but I have never been in summer because I hear it is way too hot, so I get what you are saying. Nevertheless, this is very light and breezy, and if you are looking for something to lounge in even in the air-conditioning, it’s a really fun thing to wear because it makes you feel very glamorous! Did I mention I own 3! Thanks for dropping by. Cheers!

  2. Hello! Love your blog. Will you please let me know where to find the sunglasses you have on in your pic featuring the blue caftan and luggage? They are mirrored. thanks!

It's your life. Make it Fabulous!
