How to Wear the New Fall 2024 Colors: Classy, Casual Outfits

The new Fall 2024 colors are here, and they’re a rich, earthy collection of environmentally inspired shades.

I’ll have a full report next week, but in the meantime, I wanted to give you a sneak peek at these new colors and share some ideas for how to combine them when dressing.

How to Style Pantone’s Fall 2024 Fashion Colors

1. Mix a Fall Colored Print Top with Dark Denim

Sometimes, it can take a little while to get used to a new fall palette, or it may feel slightly early to wear fall colors if it’s still warm and summery out.

One way I like to start weaving the new fall colors into my wardrobe is to wear a multi-colored print top with jeans. For example, this relaxed boho shirt combines many new fall colors, such as gold, blue, and brown.

When a top like this is worn with jeans it: creates a transitional outfit that helps bridge the gap between summer and fall.

It also makes fall colors that you may not be too sure about, much easier to wear because you are balancing them with dark denim. Denim is considered a neutral and grounds the look.

I also happen to think that a fall print top with denim makes a classy, casual, modern outfit!

There are lots of other neutrals, besides denim, that you can also wear with Pantone’s Fall 2024 colors. Black is always chic,  especially with the firey Scarlett red and cool lavender we’re seeing this year.

2. Add Pops of Colorful Fall Accessories to Your Outfit

If you love the new fall colors and are ready to amp things up, you can add colorful accessories to give your outfit even more punch.

Let’s say you love the blues, purples, and greens in this cute blouse, above. Choose one of the colors in the print and add the same color shoe, or in this case, a colorful green bag. This will make your outfit pop.

The key is not to go overboard with multiple pops of color. One or two is enough. Keep the rest of your outfit neutral if you want to look casually elegant.

3. Wear a Mix of  All Fall Neutrals

With any Fall Palette, there are always bright colors and classic neutrals. So, if you prefer quieter colors and a more understated look, there’s something in this year’s color palette for you, too.

In addition to all the bold rusts and golds, there are many quieter, muted colors such as dark blue, bone, and gray, that can be styled into chic outfits.

Choose one of these neutrals and wear it tone-on-tone for an elegant look, or wear a neutral colorblocked sweater if you a more playful feel.

There are no rules for wearing the new fall colors. When I find a color mix I love I have no problem diving in and wear the colors head to toe. For example, this rich looking shirt dress in  rust, dark purple, brown, and bone is one of my favorites this Fall!  I’ve styled it with a pair of dark brown boots and a matching bag, so the dress stands out as the star!
