NIC+ZOE Sweaters Sale: A Try On!
It’s hard to find high-quality clothing for women over 40 that combines equal parts comfort and style. That’s why I’m such a big fan of Nic and Zoe!
Knitwear Designer Dorian Lightbown is the creative talent behind this famous Boston-based brand, which she started in 2006 and named after her two now-grown kids, Nicholas and Zoe.
I love Nic and Zoe because it’s feminine, colorful, textured, has great prints, and is modern. I usually buy it at Nordstrom. But it’s also available at Zappos, Amazon, and Dillards, to name a few.
I was recently in Nordstrom and tried on some great transitional sweaters, which are now on sale! They are great pieces for right now—those few months when it’s hard to know what to wear as we transition from winter into spring. Have a look!

Diagonal Striped Cardigan
Here’s a cute creamy white cardigan with sporty spring stripes, but the cool thing about it is that the stripes are diagonal. Diagonal stripes are slimming since they pull the eye across the body at an angle that elongates and slims.
Since they are off-kilter compared to a straight up-and-down stripe, they also give your outfit a more creative feel. This cute cardigan’s cropped length is the perfect length to wear with high-waisted jeans.
It’s not too long that it looks frumpy or too short that it draws unwanted attention to the tummy.

Colorful Stripes
One of the things I like about Nic and Zoe is that they are not afraid of color. You can always count on them to find something bright and lively but still very classic. This cheery V-neck sweater is a good example of that.
I love the modern mix of colors and how the sweater has a touch of black, too, so it ties in nicely with black pants or these great-looking black flare jeans. All that color is a great pick-me-up from March into the end of May!

Fine Knits for Transitioning
I like wearing fine knits this time of year when it’s cold out. There’s still a bit of snow on the ground, but I want to dive into spring. This light, thin, stretchy knit top is the type of thing I’m always on the lookout for.
The print is so classy—gold/camel leaves on a charcoal gray background. It’s elegant and also comfy.

Romantic, Feminine Sweater
I mentioned that Nic and Zoe are also quite feminine, but they never get too frilly or fussy. This blue puff-sleeve sweater is exactly what I’m talking about. I love the simple ribbed design and the springy blue color.
There’s a hint of a puff sleeve at the shoulder—just enough to make this pretty sweater modern and interesting.

Artsy Print Sweater
I always love the creative prints from Nic and Zoe. This abstract scribble reminds me of a map or jigsaw puzzle. The gray-on-gray print is a modern monochromatic look, and it pairs beautifully with these black flare jeans.

Modern Mock Neck
Do you like mock-neck sweaters? I think they are so much more chic and comfy than a classic turtleneck. This one is a beauty. And boy, was it comfy—very stretchy and soft!
Be sure to check out Nic and Zoe, and let me know what you think! There are some great deals right now!
I love Nic and Zoe’s linen 4-way cardis. They’re the perfect light layer to toss on when the a/c is a little too cold!
I have loved Nic + Zoe petite clothes for many years but it seems that fewer pieces are available. I’m not sure any of the looks in your blog are available in petite sizes. This is so disappointing as petites are become scarcer and scarcer. Misses sizes do not translate to petite as they are often too long in tops and the sleeves are too long.
Hi Michele, I know that must be very frustrating to try and locate Petite sizes. Have you tried going directly to the Nic and Zoe site as I see they carry Petites:https://www.nicandzoe.com/petite/?lang=en_US&sz=24&page=2 If you prefer to shop department stores I’m sure if you send them an email they can direct you to which stores carry their petites. I know Nordstrom does carry their petites:https://rstyle.me/+1Y-UVq8bC2DlQXqMbzAUfA as well as Zappos:https://rstyle.me/+ya9XM0176P7MpUto05JpJA Give them a try. All the best and thanks for stopping by to visit! Cheers, Deborah
I love Nic and Zoe! A little boutique in my hometown sold this brand for a long time. The quality is excellent.
