NIC+ZOE at Nordstrom

In the last year, a clothing line called NIC+ZOEhas really caught my eye. So today, I’m excited to partner with Nordstrom to share my experience wearing one of their dresses.

Most of you know that Nordstrom is one of my favorite stores. It’s really tuned in to what women our age want and focuses on carrying stylish, high-quality brands that fit well. NIC+ZOE is one of them. Take a look.

Here I am in my cute, new NIC+ZOEdress. When I first came across this line, I assumed it was designed by two men, but I just found out that a woman, much like us, is actually the creative talent behind this fabulous Boston-based brand.

NIC+ZOE ten years ago. She named the company after her two now-grown kids, Nicholas and Zoe. How cute is that?

You know I’m a dress gal, and this is exactly the type of dress I love to wear. Color is always the first thing I look for, so it’s no surprise that I fell instantly in love with this pretty  Petal Showers Sheath Dress. It has the most beautiful mix of coral, peach, and soft taupe shades.

Next … shape. I like the way a sheath dress flatters my figure. While I’ve still got a waist, I want to show it off, and this fabric twist at the side of the dress does the trick!

The other fabulous thing about my dress is that it’s super soft and stretchy. It has a touch of spandex, so it molds to my curves, but doesn’t cling. And boy, is it comfy!

This is the kind of dress I love taking with me when I travel because it’s light and easy to pack. You can roll it up into a ball, toss it into your suitcase, and then throw it on when you get to your destination, and you look great! No fuss…That’s what I’m into.  (It’s machine washable too, which is always nice.)

You don’t need much else with this dress, just a feminine pair of shoes. I like these elegant,  nude reptile pumps. Since they’re neutral, they don’t take away from the dress. Look at the detail at the toe. The snakeskin makes them a touch edgy, which is modern.

This style of shoe is very popular this spring, so even if you don’t wear heels a lot, but you want at least one pair in your wardrobe, these are a good choice. They’re very versatile.

You can see I added some cute bracelets to bring out the white in the print of the dress. My gold sailor knot bracelet looks like a rope with a knot – more of a love knot I like to think!  I’m also wearing matching gold rope earrings.

My white enamel bangle is very fresh and classy with delicate inlaid crystals. This bangle comes in many other pretty colors too. I think it’s little details, like jewelry that can really add so much to a dress or an outfit. Plus, it’s always fun to have something new and sparkly to wear, as a pick-me-up.

Looking fabulous at any age boils down to confidence.  My NIC+ZOE Dress from Nordstrom makes me feel like a million because it’s classic with a modern twist.  It’s not boring, but it’s not over the top. It hits that fashion sweet spot we’re all looking for at 40, 50, and beyond.
