Two Ways to Style a Metallic Puffer Jacket
Did watching billionaires blast off into space inspire the metallic puffer jacket trend? Sales of shiny puffers with a space-age look have taken off like a rocket this winter! Today I’m sharing one of the top bestselling metallic puffers jackets and two ways I like to wear it. Take a look.
Look # 1 Pops of Bright
If you live up north, you likely own a puffer, two, or three! There’s nothing warmer to keep you cozy, and over the years, they’ve gone from big and bulky to more tailored and chic. I own a heavy-duty Mackage designer puffer, a long, thin, light cream puffer, and now this sporty metallic one! I had heard through the grapevine this jacket was an Amazon Fashion Bestseller. At under $60, it was too good to resist.
There are a lot of silver and shiny black metallic puffers out there, and a few gold ones too, but I’ve never seen this unique metallic shade. It’s a hard color to describe, and it changes in the light, but Amazon calls it metallic taupe.
Sometimes this jacket looks a little bronze or copper, and other times rose gold. In the end, it’s a warm metallic, which suits my warm coloring just fine.
So what do you wear with a metallic jacket? Generally, metallic hues like gold, rose gold, and bronze pair best with warm colors and earth tones like tan, orange, and brown, while silver, grey, and gunmetal metallics look great with cooler tones like navy blue.
For this look, I paired my taupe metallic jacket with this cute color-blocked Amazon sweater. I liked how the camel color blends with the taupe and how the coral pops! This is a fun look for the weekend, and the straight-cut cropped jeans with my new lug sole boots make the outfit youthful and modern.

Metallic Puffer Look # 2 Black and Taupe
It is hard to believe this is the same color coat in different lighting! We shot this second look early in the morning, and the rising sun cast a beautifully rosy glow on my metallic Puffer jacket. I decided to go for a sophisticated black and warm taupe look this time around.
Do you remember this Amazon leopard sweater I wore with jeans a few weeks ago? Here it is again with black velvet leggings and tall suede boots. The look is more sleek and elegant, and that combo of black with warm taupe makes it very chic.
One of the other great things about this jacket is its drawstring waistband. Just adjust it where you want it from the inside, and you have an instant waistline, even when you have a midlife middle! I ordered a size small ( I’m a size 6) and this coat fits fine, but it was a little snug across the chest and I’m not big-busted, so might want to size up one if you like a looser fit. This jacket is very light but keeps you warm and the hood is removable. At $58 this is a Fab Find!
