Fall Fashion Trends – Nordstrom Try Ons
Fall is on everyone’s minds, and there are all kinds of Fabulous New fashions with Nordstrom leading the way. Let’s dive into what’s in style in 2024.
I recently stopped by Nordstrom to try on a dress in the dressing room. Tell me what you like.

Trend # 1 Flutter Sleeve Dress
Sleeves are the main focal point in fashion for Fall 2024. I thought this Eliza J dress looked lovely online, but it was even better when I tried it on. This dress is pure class. The fit (true to size) is superb, and it feels incredible on.
The wide bateau neckline is elegant, and I adore the soft, flowy flutter sleeves. I love how it fits in all the right places without being tight. It made me feel like a million bucks!
You can get this dress in navy or wine, but the green feels modern for fall.

Sequin V-neck Sweater | Vince Cropped Leggings
Trend # 2 – Sleeveless Sweater
Have you noticed that there are more sleeveless sweaters than ever? This one has a touch of glam.
It’s a soft, lightweight, sleeveless sweater in the prettiest light gold cream color with soft gold sequins scattered across it. It’s minimalistic, understated, and very modern.
If you didn’t want to wear it sleeveless like this, you could play around with a pretty blouse and wear it as a vest. I like the idea of wearing it under a blazer.
I love this sweater with these Vince cropped leggings. They are straight-leg leggings, which look more updated than skinny ones ( and are easier to wear). I love the tiny side slits.
One thing to note about these is that online, they appear to be really short. I guess the model has very long legs!
I’m 5’7″ with fairly long legs, and these Vince pants are not too short on me. I prefer my cropped pants to be no shorter than this. I don’t think they are flattering.
Anyway, these Vince pants are fantastic. Although I probably have a dozen slim black pants, I couldn’t resist buying another one. Gorgeous!

Ribbed Oversize Sweater | Wit and Wisdom Straight Leg Jeans
Trend # 3 – Oversized Turtleneck Sweater
Oversized sweaters remain very popular, although I wasn’t entirely sure about them when I first saw them. I loved the style and was attracted to the color, or was I?
I couldn’t decide on this shade. It’s called Marsala, and it’s a kind of dusty pinky-coral. I wasn’t sure if it would look faded and old-fashioned. What do you think?
I liked it and loved how this sweater moved and draped so easily. Pushing up the sleeves, playing with the neckline, and trying different tucks to get just the right artsy look and feel was fun.
See how great it looks with those slim-cut Wit and Wisdom jeans I mentioned earlier?

Trend # 4 – Quilted Fabric
This is an interesting new fabric for fall 2024! You wouldn’t believe how incredibly soft and stretchy this dress is.
This knit Jacquard fabric reminded me of a quilted bedspread cover, but it was very lightweight. I’ve never felt anything like it. It was so easy and comfy to move in that I didn’t want to take it off. It’s a classic sheath, but it feels super modern.
If you are into comfort, you have to try this on!

Croc Embossed Blazer | Sequin Sleeveless Sweater | Cropped Leggings
Trend # 5 – Croc Embossed
Veronica Beard is famous for its chic, perfectly tailored blazers, and this one is one of the most fabulous I have seen, thanks to the stunning faux croc finish and gorgeous gold buttons. Wow, what a statement piece!
I chose a size 6, my normal size, and it fit perfectly!
Remember how I told you you could wear the sleeveless sequin sweater under a jacket? Well, that’s what I’m wearing under this.
I have also paired it with those chic Vince Camuto cropped straight-leg leggings, a match made in heaven.
If you want to treat yourself, this is a great investment!

Two-piece Sleeveless Turtleneck Dress
Trend # 6 – Turtleneck Sweaterdress
Ooh, la la, This Is a new style for Fall 2024 that I have never seen before. It’s a unique two-piece sweater with a sweater pop top and a long slip dress underneath.
I love the modern look and feel, as well as the flirty ruffle hemline. The blue is also regal, although it comes in grey, black, and a stunning wine shade. This dress was one of my favorites.

Trend # 7 – Mixed Media Dress
I didn’t have anywhere in mind to wear this dress, but that didn’t stop me from trying it on. It’s a mix of a stretchy top and a pleated skirt. I’m seeing many of these mixed-media dresses that combine two different fabrics for Fall. It does seem to be a growing trend.
What do they say? Buy the dress and the party will come? Maybe I should go back and pick up this beauty.

Faux Leather Mixed Media Dress
Trend #8 – Leather Dress
Leather dresses are fabulous if you can pull them off, but sometimes it’s more than that. For example, this cute mixed-media dress features a knit top and a faux leather skirt, which softens the look of head-to-toe black leather and makes it more wearable.
I loved the flattering fit-and-flare shape of this perky dress, as well as its light and comfortable feel. The buttons down the front and the big patch pockets made it even better!
It may look a tad short here because of the angle of the photograph and the fact that I have long legs, but at 36″ from waist to hem, it’s a decent length. I’d wear a lower heel like these or these (These pumps were the ones I found in the dressing room).
This is a great dress to take you from desk to dinner!

Burgundy Silk Blouse | Cropped Vince Leggings
Trend # 9 – Satin Blouse
A luxurious, silky blouse with sleek black pants is all you need to look chic this Fall 2024. I love this luxurious Vince satin blouse, featuring a buttonless collar neckline and side slits. It’s the perfect length to wear untucked without looking sloppy.
There are many less expensive satin-type shirts available, but this one is of high quality. You can feel the difference.
My pants are also Vince-cropped, stretchy leggings that are so easy to move in. They fit true to size, and I’m wearing a small.

Cropped Cableknit Cardigan (also plus size)| Straight Leg Wit and Wisdom Jeans
Trend # 10 – Cropped Cableknit Cardigan
This cropped cable-knit cardigan is definitely a Fall trend. There was also another nice one from Madewell at Nsale.
You can style it unbuttoned with a tee underneath, but I like it done up for a more refined look. I’ve paired it with these sleek, super-comfortable Wit and Wisdom jeans, which I’ve been raving about.
They’re fitted but not tight at the ankles. They have a nice, even wash, hold your tummy in, and are a good price. Those chunky brown buttons make it!

Trend # 11 Sleeveless Sweaterdress
In my last trends post, I mentioned I was seeing a lot of sleeveless sweaters. There are also sleeveless sweater dresses for Fall 2024.
This one is a gorgeous dress, but be forewarned. It’s snug, and you’ll need some shapewear (at least I did).
I wore my Spanx mid-thigh shaper to make my tummy look flat, like a pancake. (Spanx Thinstincts is good too.)
With so many solid-colored sweater dresses out there, it was refreshing to see this one with its artsy zig-zag wave pattern.

Colorblock Grandpa Cardigan | Straight leg Wit and Wisdom Jeans |cozy knit sweater
Trend # 12 – Colorblock Cardigan
Colorblocked cardigans are still going strong! This year, this chunky, blue-ribbed one had everyone nodding their heads yes when I came out of the dressing room.
This cozy, casual sweater has a home-y, oversized look, but it’s too baggy or frumpy. It’s light-to-medium weight, and although it comes in tan, I think this blue is a nice change.
Plus, the blue goes so well with these Wit and Wisdom jeans I ended up buying. These are the perfect straight-leg jeans for me because they have a clean, even wash, and the length hits just above my ankle.
I’m usually a size 6, but I sized down to a 4 like I always do with Wit and Wisdom. I love these jeans!

Pink ruffle neck blouse | Black Cropped Leggings
Trend # 13 – Ruffle Neck Blouse
Ruffles are extremely popular these days, but finding a way to wear them without looking too little girlie is sometimes challenging. I think this beautiful pink chiffon-like blouse provides a nice balance.
It features a soft, simple, ruffled V-neckline and a touch of ruffles at the cuffs. It’s feminine, but it doesn’t feel too frou-frou!
It’s quite sophisticated when paired with chic black pants, such as these sleek Vince straight-leg leggings or a pair of flowy black wide-leg pants. The berry color is stunning, but it also comes in a gorgeous, saturated sapphire blue.

Black and White Floral Mixed Media Dress
Trend # 14 – Mixed Media Midi Dress
Another mixed-media dress—this time with a ribbed knit top and a flowy fabric skirt! Like all the mixed-media dresses I’ve been showing you, this dress felt light and very comfy.
It’s so much easier to wear than a top and skirt because you don’t get that bunching up of the sweater at the waistline that can add bulk.
This floral dress felt very pretty and ladylike. The skirt gave me ’50s vibes, but the top half felt modern. It’s such an interesting combo.

Trend # 15 – Faux Leather Bomber Jacket
There were many jackets at the #Nsale, including this trendy, oversized faux leather bomber jacket. It’s very soft (not stiff like some faux leathers), and I liked the caramel color.
However, it’s very roomy and has very long sleeves. Even though it’s meant to be oversized, I thought it looked better when I sized down one.
Ultimately, this was a little too casual for my taste, but I can see many girls who like a more natural look loving this cool jacket paired with jeans in the fall.
