Hi Glam Gals!
I’m here in the dressing room at Nordstrom for an early Fall try-on. I’m sharing a mix of casual pieces—jeans, tops, and a few fall jackets that have me excited about September.
Ready to see what’s new? Let’s go!

Ralph Lauren Wool Blend Wrap Coat
Wool Coat
You can beat Ralph Lauren when it comes to classy tailored fall coats. This one with the wrap tie front is a beauty. The fit was true to size and felt perfect on. What impressed me most is how light it felt, not heavy and weighed down like some wool coats. This is a super versatile coat that looks just as good with jeans as it does with a beautiful dress.

Pink Cashmere Sweater
I love cashmere, and Nordstrom does it well. If you don’t wear a lot of cashmere, I swear once you do, you won’t want to wear anything else. This particular one is Nordstrom brand, which is great quality.
It’s light but not too thin, supersoft and luxurious. It’s easy to layer with a jacket, and I love the relaxed short-sleeve t-shirt style. And then there’s the color. That raspberry pink – so gorgeous. Comes in 4 other colors too.
Nordstrom had a lot of really nice wide-leg jeans on sale. These are Mother Hustler Roller Sneak Waisted Jeans – one of my favorites, although quite long as it is meant to be worn with heels, and sadly sold out at the moment. (uggh) I suggest you keep an eye online, as I’m sure they will come back in soon. I passed on these, and now I’m kicking myself, so I will be watching for them to return too.
Other nice wide legs at the sale are Joe Jeans Mia High Waist Wide Leg. You may want to look at those too.
Shoe note: Tory Burch suede slingbacks – so glad I got these because they look so chic with everything from dresses to jeans.

Boucle Jacket
This chic cropped Boucle jacket was a lovely surprise. Double-breasted is always so elegant, and this gorgeous ivory color felt very elevated. But what I loved the most was the cozy, nubby texture. Even the buttons were boucle. Such a cute, classy coat to pair with your favorite jeans. I’m wearing a small – fits true to size.

Ruffle Trim Sweater
I’m a minimalist at heart. I like pieces with a simple cut and a small interesting detail, which is why I was drawn to this pretty ruffle trim sweater by Cece. It’s a basic modern T-shirt shape but with a flattering body-skimming fit. Then there’s a small ruffle detail at the sleeve and hem, which is just enough. It’s sleek, feminine, and right on trend.
These fab-fitting, medium-wash jeans have a 70s vintage vibe. They’re called the Paige Sofia Flare jeans, regularly $269.00 for $179.99. I loved these jeans – very soft, stretchy, and super comfy. You can also get them in petite sizes. This color is called Dance Door. A great all-round flare jean.
As for the Steve Madden Define block heel booties– they’re already a bestseller. The color is super rich.

Quilted Corduroy Jacket
I bet you know what caught my eye with this one. That color is divine! I thought this quilted corduroy coat was a really nice alternative to all the drab colored barn jackets out there. Not that there’s anything wrong with olive, or dark brown or navy, but for gals who like color and lots of texture, this was a great find.
I love the big patch pockets and the criss-cross quilting. It’s a fresh modern, vibrant take on the classic. It’s a fab find.

Tie Neck Sweater
Scarves have been very popular the last couple of seasons, which is why we are now seeing the next step in this direction – the scarf tie neck sweater. This is the sleeveless version, which you can wear as is or layer under a jacket. This is one I saw online and couldn’t wait to try on. The style and color are so rich, and when you wear it with straight-leg jeans and sexy slingbacks, you get what I see as a Parisian look.
This Vince Camuto sweater comes in 2 other colors: black and cream. The jeans – Mother Tripper High Waist Flare , not on sale as I discovered after trying them on. These Paige Cindy High Waist Jeans ( on sale) are also nice if you want a deal. They’re slim too but with not as wide a leg opening.
Wondering about my gorgeous patent-leather animal-print slingbacks? See here!

High Waisted Straight Leg Jeans
The sweater looks familiar because I talked about it earlier, but the pants are new. These Jodi High Waist Straight Leg jeans are from Kut from the Kloth – a brand I don’t have a lot of experience with, but I was impressed. I fell in love with these pants because they are light, extremely soft, and, surprise, a little velvety to the touch. The cognac color is stunning too. These are the perfect pants when I’m working from home because the relaxed fit makes it easy for me to be at my computer for hours and feel as comfy as if I were in leggings.
Shoe note- speaking of comfy. These gorgeous green suede slingback flats surprised me too. Comfort shoes that look stylish too. What will they think of next (lol!)

Crop Woolly Jacket
I totally missed this when browsing online and was very curious to try it on once I spotted it. It’s a fun little jacket by Avec Les Fille that actually looks quite stylish and fashion -forward in person. The dark red is deep and rich, although perhaps a bit much for my complexion. However, on a gal with cool winter or even deep summer coloring, this could be stunning. If you want something different- a statement piece, try this.

I’m told the hottest jeans this Fall are the Paige Anessa Wide Leg. This vintage champagne color, is rather different, but they also come in a dark blue wash. These are a polished wide-leg jean with a nice standard fit and a good length
The pretty blue sweater is Halogen Wool + Cashmere, just a good basic, and comes in 4 colors.

Leopard Print Funnel Neck Cocoon Coat
Here’s another Avec Les Filles coat. I saw a woman trying it on, and I wasn’t a fan as it looked very bulky and busy, but I thought I’d give it a go. I still wasn’t won over. This leopard print jacket just didn’t do it for me. I’m not sure if it was the cool taupe and black print ( perhaps a warmer leopard would have worked), or just the quality of the faux fur, but I couldn’t get into it.
I also tried the neck buttoned up, but the high funnel neck swallowed me up totally. That’s just my experience, but perhaps it could work for you.
So that’s my Try On!
