What I Like about Spanx Cropped, Wide Leg Pants
Have you jumped right into the cropped wide-leg trend, or is it taking longer than you thought? This latest pants trend has gone gangbusters, and I’ve found a way to make wearing this style easy. Today I’m partnering with @Spanx to share their new Stretch Twill Wide Leg Pants!
Style Snapshot
-
Figure-Flattering Fit: Spanx pull-on pants hug where you want and flare gently at the ankle; no zippers, no bulk, just smooth shape.
-
Length That Works: They hit just above the ankle (not mid-calf), which elongates legs instead of cutting you off visually.
-
Style Made Easy: Pair with a pretty top and low-medium sandals for an easy, slimming look.

Cropped Wide-Leg Pants are a Challenge!
I’m just going to say it. Cropped wide-leg pants aren’t the easiest thing to wear. The wider leg and the shorter hemline can scare you into thinking you could never pull these off without looking short and squat. But in reality, that’s probably because you haven’t found the right ones. These fabulous Spanx cropped wide-legs, which look like jeans but fit like leggings, convinced me otherwise.

These Sculpt Your Figure
Spanx is famous for its shapewear and leggings, and these new pants are an extension of those. Not only do they look great, but they are super comfy. They have the same excellent stretch-fit technology that sculpts your figure, holds all the flabby band, but lets you breathe and move like you are wearing a second skin.
There are no zippers or buttons. You pull them on, you have that nice flat front. They’re snug across the tummy and hips, and then gently widen to an elegant medium hem width (not too exaggerated, like some wide-leg pants). I like that you don’t get the big, square, boxy shape that so many other wide-leg pants give you.

The Length and Pant Width are Elegant
The other thing I like about these pants is that, instead of ending in the middle of your calf, like many cropped wide-leg pants, which resemble wide-leg capris. These end a few inches above your ankle, which is much more flattering.
Wear them with Wedge Sandals.
I like wearing them with low wedge sandals, so I look tall and slim. A light or nude-colored shoe I’m wearing light taupe) also helps visually elongate your foot. I also find that a bit of height makes my ankles look lovely and delicate in these pants.

What Colors?
This dusty rose is called mauve, but unfortunately, it is no longer available. It has been replaced by a very pretty pale pink. These ants also come in bright white, bronze glow, and a lovely cedar shade.
Monochromatic is Classy and Slimming
I paired these pants with a pretty pink waffle knit sweater (similar sweater here) for an elegant and slimming monochromatic look. Still, they also look chic with a floral, feminine summer top or sporty with a cute tee, sneakers, and a crossbody bag.

When I buy Spanx, I always order a medium, which these are. The website says they run on the small side, so I would size up if you are in between sizes. Overall, these are soft, comfy, classy, body-sculpting pants. I loved them. My gorgeous jewelry by Dean Davidson and Chloe’s chain wallet are linked

These pants also come in a nice bronze color.

Twill Crop Pants
I love these uber-popular Stretch Twill cropped pants (Canadians, use this link) in bronze too. I think what makes them great is that they are very fitted across the hips and then gently flare out, rather than being a little loose and wide all the way down. The result is that your hips look tiny, while the rest of you seems super shapely.
The cropped length is perfect as well. Too-cropped hair can make you look stubby. These elongate your legs, which is hard to do when wearing cropped. Fabulous summer pants!
