I’m more of a classic dresser than Boho babe, but it is fun to add some earthier, more free-spirited pieces to my wardrobe in summer. So today, I’m partnering with Not Your Daughter’s Jeans to show how to create a summer shorts outfit with a Boho-Lite vibe.
It’s always a challenge to find a great pair of shorts that feel just right – not too short/ junior looking, but not long/matronly looking either. These 7″, five-pocket shorts are my idea of the perfect shorts. They have a classic look, a very comfortable fit, and they’re a great starting point to add any style of top.
To create a Boho vibe, I’ve paired my cute, stretch twill shorts with this darling linen peasant blouse!
This ’70s-inspired peasant blouse has a natural, laid back feel, without looking too Hippie. I love the color – Coral is always one of my favorites, and it looks so soft and classy with these tan shorts. Plus, I find that Coral is a great color to brighten up any complexion.
I like this top untucked because it gives the outfit a breezy feel. I pushed up the sleeves a bit to make it more relaxed looking and show off my Boho beaded bracelet. Tassel sandals, big hoop earrings, and a straw sunhat also enhance the Boho mood.
This cute summer outfit with shorts is great to wear so many places. Linen is crisp and lightweight in the summer, and you don’t have to worry if it wrinkles because that’s all part of its natural charm.
Don’t you love the drawstring neckline? It makes this top so soft and romantic.
Here’s one last look at my cute summer shorts outfit with a fun injection of Boho style.
