Styling a Summer Shorts Outfit With a Boho Vibe
I’m more of a classic dresser than a Boho babe, but it is fun to add some earthier, more free-spirited pieces to my wardrobe in summer. So today, I’m partnering with Not Your Daughter’s Jeans to style a summer shorts outfit with a Boho-lite vibe.
1. Start with Classic Shorts in a Natural Color
It’s always a challenge to find a great pair of shorts that aren’t too short/ junior looking or too long/matronly looking. These 7″, five-pocket shorts are my idea of the perfect shorts. They have a classic look and a very comfortable fit. They’re a great starting point to create any shorts outfit, including a boho one! These shorts come in green and black, but I chose tan since it’s so lovely and natural and a popular boho color.
2. Wear a Peasant Blouse
To inject some Boho, I’ve paired my cute, stretch twill shorts with this darling linen peasant blouse! This ’70s-inspired top has a natural, laid-back feel without looking too Hippie. I love the color – Coral is always one of my favorites, and it looks so soft and carefree with these tan shorts. Plus, I find that Coral is a great color to brighten up any complexion.
I like this top untucked because it gives the outfit a breezy feel. I pushed up the sleeves to make it more relaxed looking and show off my Boho beaded bracelet.
3. Sprinkle in Boho Accessories
A big floppy straw sunhat, 7o’s aviator glasses, and oversized hoop earrings enhance the Boho mood.
This cute summer outfit with shorts is excellent to wear in so many places. Linen is crisp and lightweight in the summer, and you don’t have to worry if it wrinkles because that’s all part of its natural charm.
Don’t you love the drawstring neckline? It makes this top so soft and romantic.
4. Add a Touch of Fringe
These tassel sandals are the final boho-inspired touch. Here’s one last look at my cute summer shorts outfit with a fun injection of Boho style.
