Talbots New Arrivals Try On: My Picks for Early Spring!

Hi Ladies, spring is almost here, and I cannot wait! February is my least favorite month, but what always helps me get through it is buying a few cute and colorful things that I can start wearing now.

Talbots is one of the first places I look. They always have so many cheery, classic pieces that are perfect for transitioning. Today I’m sharing a few of my favorite Talbots new arrivals for early spring.

Cropped Fringe Jacket

This darling fringe tweed jacket has got to be my favorite. I always love this elegant Chanel style and the way it dresses up a pair of jeans. This reminds me of a pink tweed jacket I shared last year, which I also loved. These elegant, cropped jackets are a yearly favorite.

The cute pink tunic shirt underneath is fantastic because it’s light, bright, and roomy. It looks best over skinny jeans or leggings because it’s nice and long. This type of shirt is hard to find, so snatch one up if you like it!

Speaking of the jeans, do you notice I am wearing the slim ankle light wash jeans? They are not as tight at the ankle as a skinny jean but not as loose as straight leg.  I find they are a little easier to wear for most gals and right on trend. The light wash, combined with a bright pop of color like this bright pink, is the new way to look modern.

I finished off this outfit with these comfy gold driving mocccasins. I have wanted a pair for a long time since metallics are considered neutral and work with everything. I’m sure to get a lot of wear out of these.

navy hearts Valentine's sweater

Hearts Valentine’s Day Sweater

Thank Goodness for Valentine’s Day. It’s a cue for retailers to bring out lots of red, pink, and white, which really helps pick up your mood when it’s gray and cold outside. A hearts sweater is always a fun way to celebrate February 14th, and this one is really nice.

I like the red on navy, but most of all, I think it’s the stripes around the waist and wrists, plus the chic mock neck, that really makes this sweater. You might think of wearing it with blue jeans, but that’s pretty matchy- matchy, which is considered boring these days. I like the way the white slim ankle jeans make it pop, and as you know, there’s no rule against wearing white any time of year!  Go for it!

blue shirt with embroidred hearts

Blue Embroidered Button Up Shirt

Here’s something a bit different with that blue sweater I showed you. I thought, for a change, I would show you a few options for Valentine’s day that was not pink or all bright red, so here is a classic blue button-up embroidered shirt with the tiniest of hearts. I’ll be honest, it looked rather plain on its own, but when I draped this heart’s sweater around my neck, this outfit came to life. It seems so much more polished and sportier. Checked Trench Coat

Talbot is known for its modern classics. You know, if you are looking for a cute trench to ease you into spring, this is where you will find it, with a twist. Instead of your basic beige trenchcoat, here’s a perky gingham trench in a classic navy check, but it’s cropped. I love the energetic vibe of this look.

Checks + a pop of pink, and those crisp white pants. It also looks good with the light wash jeans I showed you before (a touch more dressed down), or you could wear dark wash jeans for a more formal look. Isn’t it interesting how the different color jeans change the outfit’s vibe?

Long Sleeve Eyelet Top

I don’t know if you have noticed, but there’s a lot of eyelet out there lately. I find it a bit unusual because it doesn’t usually pop up until closer to summer. This new eyelet is a bit different. There are a lot of brightly colored eyelet pieces like this sweet long sleeve eyelet top in periwinkle. I love eyelet because it’s nice and feminine, but the color of this top really got to me first. I know my colors, and when I see one that suits me, I am drawn to it like a magnet. Color has energy,  and it’s a big part of anyone’s overall style.

Do you see the shoes? These tweed mules are the cutest!! I have a pair of red, white, and blue ones I wore back in the fall a couple of years ago with a red band jacket. I still get compliments on them, so when I saw these, I could not resist. They’re cute, comfy, and so different. Imagine the outfit without them. It wouldn’t be the same!

Love Sweatshirt

Some days you want a comfy sweatshirt, and whether it is Valentine’s Day or not, this LOVE sweatshirt is a great piece to transition from winter into early spring. Here’s the trick to making it not look like just another sweatshirt. Add a long button-up underneath in a bright color. You could add the blue embroidered one I showed you earlier for a more conservative look, but I love the energy of the pink, gray, and red lettering. When you wear white jeans with them, it is so fresh. There are those loafers again. I told you that you could wear them with anything.

I hope you enjoyed these cute Talbots new arrivals. There’s no need to wait until it’s hot to start wearing spring clothes. Early spring arrivals sure help lift my mood and get me excited and planning for what I’ll wear in March and beyondTo shop these looks, click the links above!
