Tie-Dye Outfits That Don’t Look Old Hippie
Tie-dye clothing makes you think of the 70s, so if you wore the trend then, is it too funky to wear now? I’ve noticed that as we’ve matured, so has tie-dye, becoming less hippie-dippie and more grown-up, sporty chic Here are some modern tie-dye outfits that won’t make you look or feel dated.

Clouds or Tie-Dye?
This cute summer tee made me do a double-take! Technically, it’s tie-dye, but it sure looks more like puffy, white clouds to me. I prefer this more subtle nod to the trend, and think this cute tee is a nice change from all the solid-color summer tops I have in my closet.
Isn’t it pretty how pairing this cloud tie-dye tee with bright, white, bootcut jeans makes it pop? As for the matching sneakers, I just happened to buy these around the same time, and love the way they finish off this weekend look by book-ending my top. These cute sneakers are slip-on and come in over a dozen colors!
Can a Tie-Dye Summer Dress Look Dressy?
Can tie-dye be dressy? Judging by this dress, yes, more than you’d think! This soft, elegant tie-dye sundress with the beachy rope belt and feminine halter neckline would be lovely at a summer wedding held near the water, in a garden, or at the beach.
The tie-dye print looks almost more like florals, and the classic gold and cream accessories add a touch of glam. Tie-dye prints naturally lend themselves to sea and sand vacations, so this dress would also be perfect for that too!

Tie-Dye Roll-Tab Shirt
Simple pieces with classic cuts also take tie-dye out of the ’70s and into 2023 This beautiful aqua shirt with the artsy tie-dye print is a classic cut, but the artsy tie-dye effect that reminds me of rain washing down a window pane makes it look modern. Add some trendy white, wide-leg cropped jeans, a pair of wedge sandals, a lovely summer bag, and earrings, and you are ready for drinks and dinner at your favorite outdoor cafe.

A Touch of Tie-Dye
Here’s an interesting way to toy with tie-dye without going overboard. I like the look of these cropped, wide-leg white jeans with a touch of tie-dye stamped at the bottom. Frayed hems also add to the beachy vibe.
Next to that is a breezy poncho that I can definitely see myself in. This elegant top doesn’t feel old hippie in the slightest way!

Finally, I wanted to share one other cute Tie-dye tee I bought last year. It’s more of a true tie-dye print, but I thought the tan color makes the teel look more elevated and modern. I see Chico’s has a similar one out this year!
