Can Colorful Shoes Make You Look Young and Modern? Part 3
PUMPS
We call these fuchsia peep toe sling backs “power pumps” because they sure let you know who’s in charge. |
They are the perfect complement to this belted houndstooth business suit because they add just the right touch of femininity and personality. The key to wearing colored shoes at work is to keep everything understated except for that pop of shoe color. If your workplace is more conservative, a closed toe pump in fuchsia would look great too. |
Shiny patent pumps like these in Fire engine red turn up the heat on this black and white graphic dress. |
![]() See what a beautiful contrast these shoes are to this eye catching David Meister dress? If the dress was red and white, and you wanted to wear red shoes, it would be nearly impossible to match the red, and if you did it would look too matchy matchy and dated anyway. |

I’m lovin’ the look of these pink and red shoes, and I’m shopping (so far unsuccessfully) for a pair that fits and is comfortable. When I succeed (here’s hoping!) what color of nail polish should I wear with them? Do I need to match the shoe, or not?
When I need a pop color and want to incorporate one trend – I try to achieve that with my shoes.
Dear Mom Huebert,
This year nail polish is really natural (almost to the point of looking like no nailpolish)…Or of course a french pedicure goes with any shoe!
So no need to try to match the shoe and then have to redo you polish every time you change them!
Cheers!

Dear Budge Chic,
Yup, we sure agree! Especially if you don’t like to wear a lot of color, you can spice up your wardrobe with just a pair of colorful ones!
Don’t feel like you have to have a purse to match… actually its better if you don’t match but just coordinate!
Cheers
