I had a lightbulb moment today about my WOW colors. At my office we normally ‘dress down’ on Fridays. On top of that, today we were having a BBQ on the balcony at noon, but I also had a meeting with bankers, so I was in a dilemma about what to wear.
I decided on dark beige cropped pants and then started looking for a top that would be both “business casual” and nice enough for meeting bankers. I found a pink sleeveless top and a sheer blouse in beige, cream, chartreuse and pink. I had not worn it for awhile and, as soon as I put it on, I knew why. I looked ill in it. It washed me out.
So I went back to the closet for Plan B, which turned out to be a black sleeveless top and a sheer, red, black, taupe and beige floral blouse worn open like a jacket. I added a necklace of red and black beads and black metallic rings, and my favourite black metallic finish earrings. This time when I looked in the mirror, I was glowing. And all day long, people were commenting on happy I looked and how nice my ensemble looked on me. So it does pay to go with your WOW colors!
