5 No-Fail Casual Spring & Summer Outfits
Living is easy in spring and summer, and getting dressed each day should be too! Whether you’re enjoying a walk by the water, sitting on a restaurant patio sipping a cold glass of white wine with friends or doing a little shopping while on vacation, you need easy outfit recipes that you don’t have to think about. Here are some no-fail, cute, and casual spring/summer looks!
1. Breezy Sundress
When I think of summer, the first thing that comes to mind is a light, breezy sundress. It’s such a fresh and feminine look when it’s hot and sunny. This pretty yellow-tiered sundress has adorable tassel tie straps and a flattering waist tie belt. Pair it with braided sandals, a summer straw bag, shiny leaf earrings, and a chic summer sundress look.
2. White Shorts and a Floral Top
If you are going to wear shorts in summer, make them white. These long Bermuda pairs make them easy for anyone to wear. I love them paired with this clear sky blue, and the pretty floral print and ruffled sleeves on this blouse give this outfit such a pretty, feminine look.
H-cutout sandals are trending this summer. This white pair is so chic. Add a white braided bag and woven silver earrings for an upscale casual summer shorts look.
4. Cargo Pants
Cargo pants are always popular in spring and summer, but here’s a new twist this year – cropped cargo pants that reveal your ankle and are in pretty new shades. I love this creamy yellow pair with big pockets and a detailed strap at the hem.
See how modern these look with this pretty washed-color block tee and these fun white sneakers. I love the bag, too, and those palm tree studs make this vacation ready!
Want an easy formula for something to wear to a backyard barbecue or on a summer vacation? A cute print sundress will never let you down. This cheery shirtdress style is classy but fun with its punchy colors and tropical print. This is the time of year to let loose and have fun. Lose that black leather purse and get a fun straw bag with a playful message. Raffia slides tie the whole look together.
6. Drawstring Beach Pants+ Bright Top
You don’t have to be going to the beach to want to slip into a comfy pair of loose, flowy drawstring pants. Wear these summer classics with a bright orange top and some fabulous woven wedges. Keep the island theme going with a chic straw bag.
Which is your favorite look? I’m curious to know. I can’t get enough of that yellow sundress!
I enjoy all of your posts and style advice. My only complaint is that you do not include larger sizes. Nothing is more frustrating than falling in love with one of your looks but not having a comparable item in a plus size. Please include choices in plus sizes for your outfits!
Thanks, Susan
I always love the outfits you create and look forward to your emails.

These are so pretty!! I live in a scorching climate. I would love to see casual summer options for those over 40 that feature sleeveless or short sleeve options and all skirts, dresses, or shorts. Jeans, trousers, long sleeves, 3/4 sleeves, jackets, and even maxi dresses can be too hot. Ideas?
