If the thought of settling in for several weeks of winter is getting you down, you can perk up your wardrobe and your soul with a pretty pastel sweater.
Forget having to wear black, navy, gray and burgundy in January and February. All of a sudden there are pink, blue, yellow, mint green and peachy colored sweaters overflowing in stores. In fact, it almost feels like Easter has arrived early!
Here are a few of my favorites pastel sweaters from chunky knits to ribbed pullovers, the softest, prettiest front tie sweaters, and more!
1. Lovely Lilac
This soft, slouchy drawstring hem sweater is too cozy to resist. The delicate color, the fine ribbing and the fuzzy texture invite you to snuggle up. The easy go wrist ties give the sweater a casually elegant feel. As for the lilac color, it looks lovely with white but would also look stunning worn with high contrast dark blue or black jeans too.
2. Buttoned Up
This feminine pink turtleneck sweater with its eye-catching button trimmed sleeves is a perky pick me up when skies are gray (or any color for that matter!) Pink is a great color to wear over 40 because it adds a nice blush to your cheeks and a youthful glow. No need to go out in the cold to get pink cheeks!
3. Waves of Color
Pastels are definitely the new wave of fashion this winter judging by this Chevron striped pullover sweater. Soft blue, pink, green and a sunny pop of yellow make this sweater feel cheery and spring-like. Three-quarter length sleeves give you a sportier and more youthful look than long sleeves.
This pretty mint green shade turns our basic high-low slouchy sweater into a knockout wardrobe piece. It’s a great transitional piece that you can wear now and well into the spring, as it is mostly cotton.
5. Just Peachy
6. Flattering Fit
This soft, cotton starburst ribbed sweater does wonders to create curves in all the right places. It’s light, bright and a very feminine way to add some magic to your winter wardrobe.
7. Shimmering Stripes
When you can’t decide which pastel you like best, this cool stripe sweater is a good solution. Thick bands of baby blue, lilac, and dusty peach are a cutting edge color combination.
Do you like wearing pastels in winter, or do you only wear them in summer? Which of these sweaters is your favorite?
