The Best Cashmere Sweaters for Women 2025: From Affordable to Luxury

Cashmere is one of those little luxuries that never goes out of style. It’s timeless, flattering, and always feels elevated, even when you’re dressed casually. I used to think cashmere was something you had to splurge on, but that’s not the case anymore. There are beautiful options at every price point, from affordable everyday pieces to luxurious investment sweaters you’ll wear for years. Once you find the right one, it becomes a staple.

Today, I’m sharing how to find great cashmere options no matter your budget, and even a few sweaters that feel just as luxurious as the real thing.

Best Cashmere Sweaters for Women 2025

Affordable Cashmere (Under $150)

If you’re new to cashmere or simply want something cozy without spending too much, there are some great options at lower price points. These sweaters may not have the longest fibers or the most intricate stitching, but they’ll still give you that soft, elegant feel you’re after.

Quince Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck Sweater

Quince is known for offering luxury pieces without the markup, and their 100 percent Mongolian cashmere crewneck proves it. It’s lightweight yet warm, available in lovely neutrals, and under one hundred dollars!

Nordstrom Cashmere Crewneck Sweater

Nordstrom has some great cashmere. It’s light and easy to layer. I wore a hot pink V-neck last Christmas with a sequin skirt and got a lot of compliments.

Affordable J.Crew Cashmere Crewneck Sweater

J.Crew’s Cashmere Crewneck is a timeless favorite that never goes out of style. The fit is classic and easy, and the cashmere feels soft and smooth against the skin. It comes in an array of rich colors, making it one of those reliable sweaters you’ll wear on repeat season after season.

Affordable Quince Mongolian Cashmere Tee

The Quince Mongolian Cashmere Tee is one of those versatile pieces that works year-round. The lightweight cashmere makes it perfect for layering in fall and winter or wearing it on its own in the spring.

Medium Priced ($150-$300)

If you’re ready to take a small step up in quality, the mid-range options are where you’ll start to notice a difference. The fibers are softer, the construction is sturdier, and the fit tends to be more flattering. This is usually where I land when I’m buying cashmere.

Talbots Cashmere Audrey Sweater

Talbots has brought back their Audrey Sweater again this year! It’s just under $200, but you can normally find it on sale this time of year. The shape is feminine and flattering with a wide neckline and sporty 3/4-length sleeves. The cashmere feels soft and substantial. It’s an investment you’ll wear for many seasons. I’m a size small (size 6), and I’m wearing a small, so this fits true to size.

Talbots Cashmere V-Neck Sweater

If you don’t like the crew neck line, you’ll want to try this soft cashmere v-neck from Talbots. The Blue Majesty shade is rich and elegant, but it also comes in fun, mood-boosting colors like pink, ice green, and red.

Banana Republic Midweight Cashmere Crewneck

This buttery yellow crewneck comes in several other colors and feels modern and fashion-forward. It’s super soft, with a relaxed fit through the shoulders, chest, and waist. It’s also a little longer ( sits below the hips), so you can play with tucking it different ways. See here for more Banana Republic cashmere I tried on.

Tuckernuck Cashmere Turtleneck Sweater

The Tuckernuck Cashmere Turtleneck Sweater will be in your closet for years to come. With the ribbed cuffs and rolled turtleneck, you’ll be cozy in this soft and relaxed fit. It comes in every classic color you can imagine and is worth reading the amazing reviews if you’re in doubt.

Luxury Cashmere ($300+)

If you’ve decided you’re ready to treat yourself, investing in a truly luxurious cashmere sweater can be one of the best wardrobe decisions you’ll ever make. The difference is in the detail, such as the softness, the drape, and the way it holds its shape after years of wear.

Vince Funnel Neck Sweater, Worth the Splurge

Vince Cashmere is pricey, but it’s worth every penny. I have this same funnel neck in a slightly different color that I bought over 5 years ago, and it still looks fabulous. ( See me wearing it in this sweater post.) This long sweater tunic style is perfect to pair with cropped pants or leggings.

Jenni Kayne Cashmere Fisherman Sweater

Jenni Kayne has become one of those brands everyone talks about for a reason, and her Cashmere Fisherman Sweater is the “it” cashmere piece to own. The design is simple but elevated, with thick, soft cashmere and that effortless, slightly oversized shape the brand is known for. It’s the kind of sweater that feels instantly luxurious the moment you put it on.

Ralph Lauren Iconic Cable-Knit Cashmere Sweater

    1. Hi Carolyn, Yes higher end cashmere will pill less than less expensive cashmere. Shorter fibers = more loose ends = more friction and more pilling. But high end cashmere will pill a bit too. So you get what you pay for.

  1. Lots of great options! I have the Quince short sleeve tee and the Talbots Audrey. Since I live in a warm climate, both are good for me in fall through winter. They’re very versatile, but I usually wear them for work more than for casual wear, though. :)

    1. Hi Carolyn, I love cashmere and find it’s hard to go back to anything else once you are used to the comfort and luxuriousness!
