Why I Use Colleen Rothschild for Dehydrated Skin
Somebody is having a special celebration! Colleen Rothschild Skincare is now eight years old!
I’m a huge fan of this brand, having used their products for over three years. I’m thrilled to tout the horn about Colleen Rothschild because, as you know, I’m very picky about what I put on my skin. I love the simplicity and ease of Colleen’s products. They are super high quality, make my skin feel healthy, and I can see they make a difference. Plus, I’ve met Colleen a few times; she is such an intelligent, lovely woman!
On a personal note, let’s all send Colleen our love and positive vibes, as she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She bravely documents her healing journey on her IG account @mrsrothschild as she goes through chemotherapy. Warm wishes for a speedy recovery Colleen.
The Colleen Rothschild Anniversary Sale is a fantastic time to stock on all your favorites or tries something new, which I’ve been doing! Once fall hits, the leaves start to dry up, and so does my skin. It tends to get quite dehydrated from September until Spring due to the weather, menopause, not drinking enough water, and probably genetics. So, here’s what I use to tackle this problem.
I like how all Colleen’s products all build on each other, so I start with a cleanser and work my way through to a mask. I like the Radiant Cleansing Balm, the Micromineral Soothing Toner, Extreme Recovery Cream, Sheer Renewal Cream, Age Renewal Super Serum, and Intense Hydrating Mask.
The Radiant Cleansing Balm is a refill since I use it all the time, and I’ve written about it before. This creamy, whipped yellow balm is like slathering butter on your face. I’m addicted to it. It’s thick and rich ( but you don’t need much) and melts like butter when it hits your warm skin. I use it all over my face, including my lids and lashes.
If I have been wearing a lot of mascara, I usually massage it into my lashes and let it sit a good minute before I wash my face. I find a hot washcloth works well with this cleanser. It’s lovely to feel the heat melting the balm off my face. It’s that feeling you get when you have a spa facial. After my skin is plump and velvety, I could go to bed like that (and sometimes I do) but typically moisturize more. Oh, and don’t get me started about the heavenly smell. It’s wonderful!
Toner is next. For the last year, I have been using the Matcha Tea Treatment Toner, which is lovely, but more like an antiseptic to absorb oil and dirt. I just switched to the Micromineral Soothing Toner (so pretty in pink!). It’s more of a balancing toner, and I love it. I did a double-take the first time I used it. I put some on a cotton pad and swiped it across my cheek, and it felt so different (more like a lotion) that I grabbed to bottle to see if I had applied the wrong stuff. But no, it’s a creamy toner. And after about 15 seconds, I did start to feel that toning effect.
The Micromineral Soothing Toner has many beautiful sounding things: rose quartz, rhodolite garnet, and malachite extract. They’re natural minerals, all new to me, but they specifically help with dehydration, lack of elasticity, etc., so that’s great!
Next in my new routine comes the heavy night creams. I’m using the Extreme Recovery Cream – (great name!) I have used it with Colleen’s Face Oil No9, which is very heavy and luxurious when you combine the two, but I was curious to try the Age Renewal Super Serum. I love using a serum with my deep night moisturizer. I think this 2-step approach makes a huge difference.
The Age Renewal Super Serum is impressive. I’ve been mixing a couple of drops in with my Extreme Recovery Cream, and I wake up with my skin feeling fresh and plump. But what I notice is the radiance. This power serum has 20 ingredients, including collagen, peptides, amino acids, vitamins, and plant extracts – I like this fabulous beauty cocktail!
For daytime, I take it down a notch. I’ve been using a lighter cream – The Sheer Renewal Cream, which is oil-free, weightless, and hydrates. This combo of more lightweight cream in the day and heavy-duty at night works best because if I have a thick cream on during the day, my makeup sometimes runs a bit.
The other Colleen Rothschild product I just started using is Intense Hydrating Mask. This is my Saturday night ritual. I get in bed with a mask, and my husband and I settle into a few hours of Netflix. This mask has some interesting ingredients like Coral Grass and Micro Algae. It’s fascinating to read about all the natural products Colleen uses to create her skincare. It makes me feel good about what I put on my face, and I enjoy this rich 15-minute hydration mask.
So that’s my new routine and the products I’m using to combat dehydration. Colleen Rothschild makes skincare products for dehydration and everything else, which are excellent! So check out Colleen Rothschild and start with your specialized skin care program. Click the links below to shop and buy.
