How to Style a Pearl Sweater Holiday Outfit

One of my favorite things about holiday dressing is getting to wear something sparkly and embellished. There are always plenty of sequin and jewel tops this time of year, and one of the prettiest I have seen is this pearl-embellished sweater from Talbots. Here’s how I styled it into a casual, upscale look. Take advantage of the great jacket I put with it, too; that’s perfect for when you are out visiting friends!

There is a saying, “The world is your oyster, and it’s up to you to find your pearls!” …..Well, I found mine this Christmas on this beautiful ivory pearl sweater.

Just look at that beautiful beading! I love the romantic, feminine feel of this top. It’s so classically Christmas, but the pretty puff sleeves, crew neck, and slim fit make it fresh and modern. This sweater lights up a room and looks gorgeous when you are near Christmas lights and sparkly holiday decorations.

A sweater like this calls for something more than jeans. I’ve paired my pearl sweater with these chic velvet pants and glam suede booties. Velvet and pearls are such a romantic combination, and the mix of black and white is always stunning at holiday time when everything else is so bright and colorful.

These luxurious black velveteen pants have a flat front and side zip, so there’s no bulk at the tummy, which I always appreciate. They have a slim legs and are slightly cropped to show off a bit of ankle. They are also not heavy; you can toss them in the washing machine. They look equally fabulous worn with flats or booties, which you can wear if you prefer a leggier look.

Are you going out to visit friends on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, or New Year’s? Imagine arriving at their door in this stunning red jacket! I adore this wool blend coat. It’s just my style, which you know is sleek, understated, and elegant. But it’s also sporty too, which gives it a youthful vibe. See how great it looks with the ivory and black?

What do you think of the high collar? Isn’t it chic? I love this jacket because it is lightweight and can be dressy or casual. I can wear it with something as formal as a pearl-beaded sweater, velvet pants, or jeans and sneakers. It’s the perfect car coat. And keep me from starting about the color. You can’t go wrong with red. It always makes you look vibrant and confident!

Here’s the final look. I added some classic @deandavidson gold Huggie hoop earrings and a cute black Coach bag, and I’m all set to deliver some gifts. This is an outfit I feel really good about because I can wear this sweater for many Christmases ( and Valentine’s Day would be nice, too).
