Galentine’s Outfit Inspo for Women Over 40
Today, I’m partnering with three fabulous blogger friends to bring you some Galentine’s outfit inspo. Check out these Galentine’s Day looks for gals like us who want to celebrate in style.
If you don’t know what Galentine’s Day is (and I didn’t until last year), let me explain. While Valentine’s Day is all about loving and honoring your sweetheart, Galentine’s Day celebrates female friendships. It takes place on February 13th, the day before Valentine’s Day.
I’m not sure how this extra holiday got started, but it has grown into a thing, and now lots of women are starting to plan some pretty fun and fabulous outings with their girlfriends!
I was out shooting recently when I happened upon the cutest place: Lola Choco Bar and Sweet House. I love going out for tea with my girlfriends, but it’s hard to find a cozy place to go, so I was thrilled to discover this darling cafe.
What a perfect place for a Galentine’s Day gathering or tea with a friend, anytime. To be able to sit, chat, and laugh in such welcoming, homey surroundings with a hot drink and a tasty treat – well, that’s what friendship is all about!
What should one wear to a Galentine’s Day gathering? Since the tradition is so new, there are no guidelines, but my vote would be something casual, pretty, and feminine, like this lovely color-block sweater.
I love bright colors and modern knits, so when I spotted this red and pink color block sweater, it seemed perfect for Galentine’s Day to me! A fitted sweater like this always looks chic with classy dark wash bootcut jeans.
Pink, purple, and red! It’s a bold, beautiful mix!
How do you like my Kate Spade purse? It’s the perfect size for me and I’m crazy about this delicate pink color. This bag is a great pick-me-up to get me through dreary February!
So what do you think? Will you be having Tea or brunch, dinner, or drinks with your girlfriends on Galentine’s Day? At least you’ll have some ideas about what to wear! I have one more Galentine’s sweater idea for you here.
Be sure to visit Jennifer, Tania, and Jo-Lynne to see what they suggest you wear on Galentine’s Day!
Love to you girlfriend! Cheers!
Hello! It is adorable and beautiful; I like how you combine these things. I want to wear something similar soon on Valentine’s Day, but I do not have cute clothes to wear on a date with my husband. I want to surprise him. I like your blog; you inspire me; I look forward to your posts, have a nice day!
Thanks, Emma, for dropping by, and I’m glad you are getting inspiration. Sometimes seeing an outfit makes us realize we have something in our closet we can rework. My suggestion is to get into your closet and play around. You may be surprised with what you come up with1
Hi Emma, Thanks for dropping by. I’m glad I’ve given you some inspiration. Sometimes seeing a new outfit makes you realize you have similar pieces you can rework. My advice is to get in your closet and play. You may be surprised!
That’s the best kind of sweater where it’s all the colors in one!!

Thanks, Jodie. I call this my rainbow Valentine’s sweater!
The sweater looks fabulous on you. I love the vertical lines! And those jeans look so classy and elegant; what a perfect fit, wish it was so easy for me to find perfect-fitting jeans, but something I’ve struggled with my whole life as I am petite.
Hi Ellibelle, Not sure what price range you are looking for, but Madewell (at Nordstrom) has high-quality petite jeans that range anywhere from $110 – $150. Some prices may be lower if they are on sale. I know LOFT has a great little section too. The Banana Republic also carries denim for Petites, and they often have 40% off sales.
I have been eyeing those booties. They are gorgeous, and I am so glad to see how they look on you. I think that I’ll be placing an order for those today!
Tania, get them! I have been wearing them non-stop. They jazz up any outfit, and they are comfy too. Love them!!
Such a great look Deborah. I need that pink bag. It’s perfect for Spring!
Thanks, Jennifer; I like this sweater because it’s festive but doesn’t scream Valentine’s/Galentine’s Day, which means I can wear it often!
What a gorgeous sweater, Deb! And that bag…
Hi Jo-Lynne, Isn’t that bag darling? I couldn’t resist!
