5 Cute Summer Tops with Very Flattering Necklines

Some of this year’s cutest summer tops have one thing in common – very flattering necklines. Here’s a look at 5 of my favorites and tips on how to know which one will suit you best!

Square Neckline

Any chance I get to buy a square neckline top, I take it.  I love the classy look and feel of this beautiful neckline that elegantly shows off the neck.

It is particularly good for visually lengthening short necks, and since it opens up the chest, it is flattering on gals with large busts. 

If you have narrow shoulders and wide hips, a square neckline will make your shoulders appear wider, creating a more balanced figure.   

Special note: Women with square jawlines look fabulous in a square neckline since it mimics the shape of the jaw.

Keyhole Neckline

It’s nice to have one summer tee that’s a little bit sexy, and in my books, a keyhole neckline is a great one to have. It has that cute peek-a-boo effect without being vulgar.

The keyhole neckline is great for the smaller busted woman, but large busted women should avoid this type of top since it will draw attention to your cleavage.

I love this pretty peach coral keyhole neckline tee by Calvin Klein. The keyhole is a perfect size,  and the top gently follows your curves without being tight.

V-Neckline with a Front Twist

A V-neck summer top is a classic – one that everybody can wear.  Be sure to choose a V-neck that is deep enough and that best fits your bust size. Smaller busts look best in a less dramatic plunge, while larger ones need a deeper V to elongate and balance their silhouette.

Of course, the cool thing about this v-neck tee is the interesting front twist. This adds extra oomph! If you want to look busty, the ruching adds a lot of fullness!

Halter-Neckline

A halter neck is great for women with wide shoulders (inverted triangle body type). This is because the exposed skin at the shoulders makes them look narrower. It’s also flattering on women with toned arms. What a gorgeous way to show off all that hard work you’ve done in the gym!

This glamorous orange, knit, halter- neck top is one of my favorites. It’s soft with a lovely texture. It’s also lightweight ,but not thin or see through, and  it makes a sexy statement with a pair of cork heels.

Boat/Bateau Neck

The boat neck style is nautical-inspired. It’s  basically a wider version of a round neck but it extends straight across the shoulders. This is another of my favorite necklines because it makes your shoulders look broad which in turn makes your waist look small! It also helps you look a little bustier if you are small busted.

Boatneck tops look very elegant on women with long necks and faces because they draw the eye horizontally. ( This is why they probably work on me!)
