Late Summer, and early Fall is always such an awkward time to dress. It’s still warm out, so you don’t want anything too hot, but you are starting to feel like you want to move into darker clothes and a more layered look. So today, I have a solution for you – a fabulous new blazer that bridges the gap between summer and fall and two very casually chic ways to style it that will make you look updated and classy. Take a peek.
OUTFIT #1 Double Breasted Blazer + White Shirt + Jeans
When you have a casual outfit and want to take it to the next level, one of the easiest things you can do is add a beautiful blazer. A single-button blazer is always lovely, but it doesn’t compare to the elegance of a well-made double-breasted blazer. This is my new double-breasted blazer from Talbots. I’m crazy about the cheery Barbicore pink color that works year-round and the shiny gold buttons that add such a classy touch.
This blazer is a cotton-linen blend so you can wear it right now and into fall. Pop the collar and push up the sleeves. It’s easy to style because it’s so lightweight.
I’m wearing it here with a long tunic-type white shirt with buttons on the back (see carousel below). The jeans are cropped straight-leg, and the dark wash makes them look more sophisticated than faded jeans.

This is a fabulous look for a casual workplace or when you’re going somewhere and you have to look professional but you don’t want to look overly made up or stuffy,
OUTFIT # 2 Double Breasted Blazer black and White Stipe Top + Black Jeans
Look #2 is also classic but playful with those sporty black and white stripes. I’ve switched out my blue jeans for black jeans and added this stretchy top that is soft and super comfy. This boat neck tee feels silky and wonderful. I love how it gives this outfit a bit of a French look!
You can always count on Talbots for chic loafers. I’ve had these for a while, but check out their shoe section to see what’s new. With dark-cropped pants like that, I like to match the color of my shoes to my pants to create a long, lean line (especially since I’m wearing horizontal stripes that make you look wide.)
Relaxed and effortlessly elegant. I love the way the jacket pops against the black and white stripes. My gorgeous square hoop earrings are from my favorite jewelry designer, Dean Davidson. To shop this outfit, click the links below!
