2 Cute Puff Sleeve Tops that Look Great with Jeans

I’ve been talking a lot lately about the newest spring jeans and how flare and wide-leg styles have pretty much replaced skinny. So, the next question is,  what do you wear with them?

Many tops look great with looser, wider jeans, but one of the more popular styles right now is a flowy, feminine top. Today, I’m sharing two of my favorites from Talbots, both 30% off!

Top #1 Floral Print Top

This first floral top may look familiar because I recently shared a beautiful shirt dress in the same print, with the colors reversed. See here.

The bold mix of pink and red was so pretty that I couldn’t resist getting both pieces!

I’m always on the lookout for classy, casual tops that are refined and feminine, and this one fits the bill.  It’s elegant and ladylike, but the print gives it energy and makes it look modern. It’s also very comfy since it is a little loose and flowy.

The pretty puff sleeves are right on trend, and while they are rather sweet and romantic, they’re not overdone.  Sometimes, when puff sleeves are too big and billowy, they can look like you have been shopping in the junior department!

The nice thing about this top is you can wear it out or tuck it in. I like to tuck in and leave some fabric loosely draped over my jeans. This feels modern.

The pants are my new Pintuck jeans, which are a little dressier and more elegant than regular white jeans.  (I wore these last week with a striped top! See here) They’re stretchy but hold their shape, and the sewn-down seam (the pintuck) creates a straight line down the front that makes your legs look extra long.

I love the yin-and-yang mix of the soft, feminine, flowy top and the more tailored-looking white jeans.

I also like that the top is ladylike but not wimpy. I’d call it modern and bold.

Many of you have been asking me what to wear to a baby shower if you don’t want to wear a dress. This classy outfit would be perfect!

Top# 2  Orange Seersucker Top

With this next outfit, the jeans are different,  but take a second look at the top. Surprise! It’s the same top as the pink and red one I just shared.

It is the same style, with the only difference being that it is seersucker and solid orange. The all-one color and puckered texture give it a totally different look and feel.

You can see the seersucker fabric better in this close-up. It looks great worn with my hammered gold Dean Davidson Tiger’s Eye cuff. The textures are similar, which helps to pull the whole outfit together.

What do you think of the pockets on these jeans? They are another big trend, and I like them because they make jeans look a little nautical, like sailor pants.

Tucking in is a must with these pants because you want to show off that great pocket detail!

Now for the good news. Both these cute puff sleeve tops are 30% OFF right now at Talbots. To shop these looks, click the links below the outfits! If you want to see these outfits in action, I have videos of me modeling each below at my LTK shop, where you can also make a secure purchase!

  1. Great post, and I have the Gibson twist top and love it. I got it last spring and planned to wear it again. Thanks for sharing.
