How to Style a Plaid Tweed Jacket
There are many jackets you can wear with jeans to instantly uplevel your style, but this season, one stands out.
It’s this gorgeous plaid tweed jacket (similar) that I have been loving lately that’s casual, colorful, and classy! Have a look.
This beautiful plaid jacket (similar) is truly a head-turner. Plaid is classic and always looks polished, and the nubby texture makes the jacket more interesting.
The color is fantastic! The mix of blue, red, yellow,white and a dash of pink is lively and creative – a modern twist on a classic print.
The fit of this jacket is also super flattering. It’s double-breasted which looks rather regal, and has a deep front cut, making it more feminine. It’s beautifully tailored and nips in perfectly to whittle your waist.
The bold shoulders on this jacket act like a hanger, giving you more definition and a better shape, especially at midlife and beyond when our shoulder tend to become soft and less defined.
Shiny embossed gold buttons and the way the jacket is cut away at the front give it a military feel.
This strong but feminine jacket would look great with a skirt and heels, or you could wear it with dress pants. Since my lifestyle is more casual, I’ve styled it with these chic dark wash bootcut jeans which creates a more formal look.

A scoop-neck top, mock-neck, or turtleneck is perfect under this jacket. Or, do like me and wear an off-white, soft shell to make the colors in the jacket pop. I added this pretty Jenny Bird necklace so the top wouldn’t look so plain.
And my red Gucci Bag matches perfectly! This is a fabulous outfit because it feels elevated, but not stuffy – expensive, but not out of reach.
And here’s the final look. I’ve added some sleek black suede booties to finish off this outfit. It’s a real looker!
I like the elegant way you look in that jacket. It doesn’t look to be over or under-dressed but chic—such a wow statement.
