Side Stripe Trousers with Boyfriend Sweater
Side stripes on clothing seem to be everywhere. Did you see my recent post on my sporty new side stripe sweater dress, or read my guide on how to wear side stripe pants?
You’ve probably seen a lot of black or denim side striped jeans in stores. But today, I’m styling a beautiful pair of olive green side stripe trousers to create a chic and affordable outfit. Take a look.
If you’re bored of plain colored pants, then think of side stripes as the new embellishment. A bold stripe running up the side of your pants can be very commanding!
Side stripes are an offshoot of the athleisurewear trend, which has seen workout clothes, such as striped joggers, turned into chic everyday wear.
These sleek, women’s side-stripe trousers from the Banana Republic have a slightly dressier feel and the deep olive-green color sort of gives them a military vibe.
I’ve paired mine with a cozy, oversized boyfriend sweater. Do you see the way this pretty asymmetrical sweater dips down in the back, cradling and covering your bottom? That beautiful angle makes this sweater very slimming and modern.
Mustard is big for fall, and I think this peppy little mustard crossbody bag is such an exciting contrast to the color of the pants. Black suede booties match the black stripe and elongate your legs. I love the sexy thin heel on these booties. They add a serious dose of femininity!
I’ve pushed up the sleeves because I think it looks more youthful. Isn’t this outfit a nice change from jeans? It’s casual but super classy.
These chic side stripe trousers have built-in stretch, so they move as you do. They’re comfy pants!
Here’s a closer look at the sweater. A black sweater would look good too, but I like the freshness of the white and how it really shows off the pants.
And just in case you thought you had to wear booties with heels to rock this outfit, look again. See how cute it looks with flat slip-on mules.
If you want to add a pair of women’s side-stripe trousers to your wardrobe, then you can shop my look above. Please send me a photo if you get this outfit. I’d love to see how you wear it!
Deborah, your blog is such a great source of fashion inspiration. This outfit is the latest example of many looks I wear right from my closet because I already have similar items. Now I can’t wait to wear them together. You’re relatable to me in age, taste, and interests. I adore you and your blog! Mwah!
