J.Crew Try-on Haul: It’s All On Sale at Huge Savings
Hi Ladies!
A while back, I did a J.Crew try-on, and although I posted some of the photos on Instagram, I forgot to post them here. Now, I see all these items are on sale for Cyber Week at hugely discounted prices!
J. Crew is such a great brand for classic clothes with a fresh, modern feel. I found several really nice cardigans and sweaters. Here’s what they look like on, and what I think about each piece.
Jacquard Cardigan | Trouser Jeans
Jacquard Shrunken Cardigan
J.Crew has really picked up on the lady jacket trend this year. However, most of the ones I tried on were the softer, less structured type rather than a true lady jacket.
That suits me fine since soft and cozy, rather than formal and structured, is much more in line with my casual midlife lifestyle.
This lady cardigan, as I call it, is quite lovely because of the wavy jacquard weave. The waves make me think of the ocean, and with that navy trim and the gold buttons, I’m getting nautical vibes.
Cable Knit Cardigan | Slim Cropped Black Pants
Cable Knit Sweater Cardigan
Do you like Cable Knit? This Cable Knit Sweater is interesting because J.Crew taken a classic silhouette—the lady jacket style—and reimagined it as cable knit sweater. Then, they’ve made it totally modern by showing in this vivid green.
This sweater cardigan is perfect for gals with classic style who also love color, or just want to look a little more creative! You could wear this green sweater with blue jeans, but I think black with this Kelly green is a chic combination.
The slim, cropped, straight-leg pants also make it look more modern.
Fringe Lady Jacket | Slim Cropped Black Pants
Cropped Fringe-Trim Lady Jacket
This is a very cute little piece that checks all the right boxes. It’s classic, feminine, a little bit playful with that fringe, and super comfy.
This Lady Jacket is much more unstructured than the others. See the soft shoulders? I really like the classy burgundy brick shade too. It’s rich looking.
Rollneck Sweater |Trouser Jeans
Rollneck sweater
Here’s a good-looking sweater, although I’m not a fan of this color on me. You might look great in Olive, but I find it drab with my light coloring. I wish I had tried it on in cream or pink which would probably be better on me.
Regardless, I love the sophisticated roll neck and the cropped boxy fit.
A cropped sweater like this is perfect when you are wearing high-waisted, wide-leg pants. This stretchy denim trousers feel good on and fit true to size.
Red Lady Jacket | Trouser Jeans
Red Lady Jacket
You know me and red; I’m drawn to it like a fly to honey! This is probably my favorite jacket of the lot. It is the most structured – truly a jacket and not a sweater.
The nubby tweed texture, the color, the pockets, and those classy gold buttons are fabulous. I’ve paired it with these J.Crew Trouser jeans, which they call low rise but they didn’t feel that way on. This jacket would look very classy with black pants, too.
Pink Polo Sweater | Wide Leg Jeans
Long Sleeve Polo SweaterSlim Cri
Polo sweaters with collars have been trending, and this is one of the nicest I’ve seen. Made from supersoft yarn, it is warm and cozy and has a classic preppy look.
I’ve been wearing a lot of this Pink Heather color for the last couple of years. It’s feminine but not too Barbie like and gives my face a nice warmth.
