Pretty Red Dress For Valentine’s Day Dinner

If you’re planning a romantic date night out on Valentine’s Day and wondering what to wear, I have some great suggestions. I’ve partnered with my blogging gal pals Jo-Lynne and Tania to bring you three charming looks. First, let me show you my pretty red dress for Valentine’s Day dinner.

There’s nothing that says Valentine’s date night more than a bright red dress. This year, I went with something a little bit different. Typically, you’d find me in a short red or pink sheath dress, or maybe even a sweater dress, but I went with a long, print midi this year.

This darling midi dress with peasant sleeves and a belted waist is soft, flowy, and feminine. It has a bohemian feel, but it’s still quite elegant. This one is from last year, but I found two similar dresses, a floral flare dress, and a heart midi wrap dress.

This midi-length has become very popular. More modest-looking dresses with longer hemlines and long sleeves are trending, and that’s a welcome change after years of so many short, sleeveless dresses. It’s sure nice to have options!

A longer dress like this looks most flattering with heels. Since it’s frigid out, I went with these gorgeous high-heel suede boots. Something about this red print dress with the tall black suede boots gives this outfit a sophisticated ethnic vibe—kind of Russian, I’d say!

My velvet Gucci bag, which I bought a few years ago, ties the whole look together, adding polish and class.

Did you notice the print on this dress? Those blue flowers are supposed to be poppies! I love how this dress moves when you move, making it quite flirty.

This is a beautiful dress for your Valentine’s Day date night, but it is also very practical and would be perfect for work, a graduation, a wedding shower, you name it.

I wanted to mention the jewelry, which is so pretty with this dress. I’m wearing the love knot chain and earrings for Valentine’s Day, which are new from Kendra Scott. I’ve also added a second necklace from Kendra, the Kacey necklace, which, if you go through my blog, you will see I wear a lot.

I truly am a huge Kendra Scott fan. Her designs are the perfect mix of classic and modern, and the quality is excellent.

This dress falls beautifully from the waist and gives you a great shape. For a smooth look, I suggest you wear shapewear. I always do it under my dresses, which makes a big difference. Even if you are not overweight, it helps smooth out all the lumps and bumps that come with midlife.

What a pretty dress!

  1. I love this dress….looks so very much like Spring. The whole combination looks great. The only thing I can’t figure out is why you didn’t freeze when you had the pictures taken :-)

    1. Hi Lauren, Oh, I did freeze. It was -3 degrees Celsius, but the show must go on! I wear a coat, throw it off, shoot it on, run inside a cafe and warm up, and run out again. So glamorous! LOL!

It's your life. Make it Fabulous!
