Pretty Red Dress For Valentine’s Day Dinner

If you’re planning a romantic date night out on Valentine’s Day and you are wondering what to wear, I have some great suggestions. I’ve partnered with my blogging gal pals Jo-Lynne and Tania to bring you three very cute looks. First, let me show you my pretty red dress for Valentine’s Day dinner.

There’s nothing that says Valentine’s date night more than a bright red dress. This year I went with something a little bit different. Typically you’d find me in a short red or pink sheath dress, or maybe even a sweater dress, but this year I went with a long, print midi.

This darling midi dress  (similar) with the peasant sleeves and belted waist is soft, flowy, and very feminine. It has a bit of a bohemian feel, but it’s still quite elegant.

You’re going to be seeing a lot of this new midi length come spring. More modest-looking dresses with longer hemlines and long sleeves are trending, and that’s a welcome change after years of so many short, sleeveless dresses. It’s sure nice to have options!

I think a longer dress like this definitely looks most flattering with heels. Since it’s really cold out, I went with these gorgeous high heel suede boots. There’s something about this red print dress with the tall black suede boots that gives this outfit a sophisticated ethnic vibe – kind of Russian, I’d say!

My Gucci velvet bag, which I bought a few years, ties the whole look together, adding polish and class.

Did you notice the print on this dress? Those blue flowers are supposed to be poppies!  I love the way this dress moves when you move, which makes it quite flirty.

This is a beautiful dress for your Valentine’s Day date night, but it is also a very practical dress and would be perfect for work, for a graduation, a wedding shower…you name it.

I wanted to mention the jewelry, which is so pretty with this dress. I’m wearing the love knot chain and love knot earrings, which are new from Kendra Scott for Valentine’s Day. I’ve also added a second necklace from Kendra, the Kacey necklace, which, if you go through my blog, you will see I wear a lot.

I truly am a huge Kendra Scott fan. I find her designs the perfect mix of classic and modern, and the quality is excellent.

This dress falls beautifully from the waist and gives you a great shape. For a really smooth look, I suggest you wear shapewear. I always do under my dresses, and I find it makes a big difference. Even if you are not overweight, it just helps smooth out all the lumps and bumps that come with midlife.

What a pretty dress!

  1. I love this dress….looks so very much like Spring. In fact the whole combination looks great. The only thing I can’t figure out is why you didn’t freeze when you had the pictures taken :-)

    1. Hi Lauren, Oh I did freeze. It was -3 degrees Celsius, but the show must go on! I wear a coat, throw it off, shoot, throw it on, run inside a cafe and warm up, runout again. So glamorous! LOL!
