Pintuck Jeans: Summer’s Elevated New Denim Trend
One of the biggest changes in fashion in a long time is with jeans. We’ve gone from skinny to wide, from darker to very light wash, and now the latest trend is Pintuck Jeans.
If you like a classy style of jeans that instantly elevates your look, this is it. Have a peek at this cute new pair I just picked up, and let me know if you are on board!

What are Pintuck Jeans?
Pintuck jeans are denim with a thin, fine, sewn-down pleat that gives them a more formal, polished look. This spring, I’ve seen Pintuck jeans from several brands, but I ended up getting this chic, white pair of Pintuck Flare Jeans from Talbots.
Flattering Flare Pintuck Jeans
These jeans are a fantastic find. They look crisp and classy, like dress pants, but are stretchy and comfy, like premium jeans. They have a high waist, no mommy tummy to worry about, and they feel very good on.
They are fitted through the hips and thighs, but not tight, and then taper into a medium-wide flare that nicely balances your top half. These would be flattering on anyone.
What to Wear with Pintuck Jeans
This darling French blue, striped collar sweatshirt I got to go with them is a fabulous way to play up the sailor vibe of these pants. I love the way it gives this outfit a summery nautical look.
This sweatshirt is very light and comfy. How cute is that strap across the front of the V-neck that buttons to one side? It’s such a simple thing, but it adds a modern twist.
How to Style Pintuck Jeans
Silver shoes are trending this spring, so I picked up these super cute Waylon silver mesh slides from Sam Edelman.
They are two inches high which is the perfect height for me. They’re not so high that they are uncomfortable to walk in, but not so flat that my pants drag on the ground and I look short and frumpy.

White or Dark Wash Pintuck Jeans?
These white Pintuck jeans also come in a dark denim wash, but I don’t think they are a patch on the white. The white is so fresh and feminine, and you know how fantastic anything looks with white in the summer!
Here’s a final look at this chic summer outfit. You can see the Pintuck here very clearly and how crisp it looks. The pintuck pleat keeps its shape even when you wash the jeans, so you always look a little more upscale and pulled together than when wearing regular jeans.
The pintuck also makes these jeans great for travel. They’re perfect after a day of siteseeing when you want to slip on something slightly dressier for dinner.

Wow, do I ever love the look of the pin tuck!!! They do add just the right amount of “level up” to an outfit, without being too formal. That is right up my alley. I checked the link out from Talbot’s. I agree with you, the white looks better than the denim version. Cheers!
Hi Carolyn, Aren’t they perfect? They’re what I’m always looking for – a classy, casual look. Cheers, Deb
