How to Style a Green Suede Moto Jacket

A beautiful leather moto jacket is great wardrobe essential that you can pair with almost anything. But I’m also a fan of its more casual, velvety cousin – the suede moto jacket.

Today I’m styling a gorgeous green suede moto jacket for fall. Check out this cool, colorful jacket with a feminine, high-end look and how I like to wear it.

It’s rich, luxurious but warm and friendly too. This chic  green faux suede moto jacket  from Nordstrom  is a beauty.

If you have always wondered what the difference is between sude and leather, suede is the flash side of leather while is the outer side.

Suede is seen as slighlty more casual than leather. It’s also more  flexible and lightweight, so it’s easy to move around in.

This luxurious green moto jacket has so much going for it. First, it’s got a beautiful military cut which helps give us 40+ gals with softer, rounder bodies some nice, sharp, slimming angles.

Second, the color is stunning! That deep forest green is this year’s  “it” color in fashion. I love how it oozes class and richness.

And finally, the gorgeous suede is ultra-soft and luxurious. Touching this jacket is like stroking a sleek, velvet cushion!

See how nicely the jacket fits across the shoulders and back?  I love the texture that suede adds to an outfit.

Here, I’m wearing my green motorcycle jacket with textured, white turtleneck, black leggings, and these trendy over-the-knee boots. It’s comfy, casual look.

white turtleneck

Here’s a style tip for you. When you want to wear something edgy like a moto jacket, but you still want to look feminine, something like this bubble turtleneck is light, airy and daintier than a thick, heavy ribbed turtleneck.

I’m also like the way the white sweater pops against the green and makes it look even greener.

See how good it looks peeking out below the jacket a couple of inches? You can wear untucked or tuck one corner of the sweater into your waistband- a half tuck look.

Black jeans or Ponte leggings worn with suede over-the-knee boots give the outfit a moto-lite or lady-moto look, as I call it!

bootsI just wanted to give you a back view of these over-the-knee boots. Lace-up…a lot of fun and fantastic for gals with larger calves because that back is all stretch!

Over-the-knee boots or any boot work so well with the modern biker vibe.

Accent with a bag of your choice- nothing stiff or structured, though. I’m into burgundy this fall, which looks great alongside my green moto jacket.  To get an even closer view of my jacket and shop my entire outfit, click the links above to Shop the Post.

  1. I love both of these looks! That green moto jacket is fantastic, and I also love how you styled this red jacket. I like how you describe the clothes too!!

  2. Thank you so much for this inspiring, pretty outfit! I have a leather olive green moto jacket very similar to yours and have been wondering how to style its awkward outdoor length for a long time. Your post answers my question. It’s hard to copy the boot part if one doesn’t own over-the-knee boots because I don’t know if the same can be achieved with knee highs. But I retain the leggings + bulky sweater’s rigid cowl neck. Also, it’s not too long (it doesn’t fall too far on the thighs) but long enough to layer with a jacket. I also wonder if this would work with harem-style pants and short booties.

    1. Hi Marie, Glad you liked the outfit. You could wear a top with a moto jacket and harem pants, but I wouldn’t style it with the turtleneck sweater. It feels too heavy to be styled with such light, loose flowy pants. Maybe styles with a tee under the jacket would be better to balance things. Here’s a photo. It’s much more of a creative look with harem pants:https://i.pinimg.com/736x/14/8c/ea/148ceaa864102a5fab479e2b25a890f8–jogger-pants-harem-pants.jpg.
