Talbots Fall Try-On: Cozy, Chic Outfits to Love This Season
Hi Ladies! The leaves are starting to change, and it’s getting chilly and wet out, so today I’m in the dressing room trying on some cozy, chic looks from Talbots. These snuggly finds are right on trend and perfect for getting you through Fall, Thanksgiving, and the winter ahead.
Get ready to snuggle up in one of these fab finds!

If you’ve heard that purple is trending this Fall, there’s lots of proof of that at Talbots. It seemed like every second item I tried on was purple, lavender, or heather (follow along and you will see). I’m all on board with that. Purple is such a regal color and a lovely way to add some color to your face when you start looking pasty in the Fall.
This boxy, ribbed turtleneck was the first thing I tried on, and I loved it. You wouldn’t believe how incredibly soft it is, and the two-tone purple stripes make it work for both cool and warm complexions, like mine. The neck is high, but it sits away from the face, so you have plenty of breathing room!

I love a good V-neck because it elongates your neck, making you look taller and slimmer. This V-neck sweater is a beauty because it’s slightly different. Instead of coming to a sharp V, it’s squared off a bit (check the link to see, as my phone is covering that detail here).
I love this peachy color, which is a nice change from all the orange and rust we are seeing, but it comes in several other colors as well. Plus, it’s also super soft!

Cableknit midi skirt & Collared sweater
This is interesting. It’s two pieces that you can buy separately, or pair together and wear as a set. I’m calling this a two-piece sweaterdress with an English countryside feel.
I love the big, wide collar on the sweater that frames your face, and the slim, but not too tight, skirt silhouette. The texture is rich, a combination of cable knit and ribbing that makes this feel classy and special. This looks perfect with tall suede boots.

Do you ever see something and think it is so “dolly” that you can’t resist? I was curious to try this cozy sherpa jacket and was surprised by how much I loved it.
After years of moto jackets and puffer jackets (which I still like), this felt fresh, new, and cute with a capital C. I couldn’t resist and bought it, and I will model it for you in an upcoming post. Can’t wait to go to the grocery store in this one – Lol!

I’m crazy for sweater dresses this time of year. They’re perfect for my midlife lifestyle because they’re casual and cozy, yet can look quite polished when paired with boots, jewelry, and a touch of makeup. I wouldn’t normally try on gray anything. It’s just not my color, but I liked the shape and relaxed vibe of this dress, so I gave it a try.
I think this sweater dress looks pretty great, mainly because of the Fair Isle pattern across the shoulders. It creates the illusion that your shoulders are wide, which in turn makes the rest of you look really slim. Cute length too – it’s perky but not junior. Who says you can’t wear a short dress at 65!

What a surprise this sweater was! I admit it’s an odd color (they call it golden wheat—a cross between gold and green), but I think it works well with my skin and hair. I also love the classic shape and the classy cream edging around the neckline and hem. It just goes to show that sometimes you need to try something different to stay modern.

Ribbed Turtleneck Sweaterdress & Faux Fur Down Puffer
Did you read my post on how to style a sweaterdress? I had a lot of great ideas, but forgot about this one.
This heather sweater dress is a beauty on its own, but when you layer it with a faux-fur-trimmed puffer vest, you have a fabulous fall look with a fun après-ski vibe. It’s super cute – wintry, but not heavy-looking. I loved this!

Here’s an interesting sweater that made me feel like an Elizabethan queen! It’s a diamond-patterned turtleneck with a fancy, feminine ruffle collar. It looks special, like something you’d definitely want to wear over the holidays. And you don’t even have to wear it with dress pants. It’s darling with just plain old jeans.
This is for all my gals who are romantic style types and love clothes with dainty, pretty details.

I’ve written many posts about how to wear cashmere sweaters because, in my opinion, there’s nothing that looks and feels as fabulous as this luxurious knit. Talbots has fantastic cashmere in every color imaginable, reasonably priced, and often on sale!
This is a beautiful modern piece featuring a wide neckline and sporty 3/4-length sleeves. I’m a size small (size 6), and I’m wearing a small, so this fits true to size.

Sherpa Jacket and Fair Isle Sweaterdress
I thought I’d give you one last look at this cute sherpa jacket. Although I didn’t end up buying the gray sweaterdress (I wasn’t sure I’d get enough use out of it), I thought it looked amazing with this jacket. This is not just a dress, jacket, and boots.
This outfit tells a story and has a fabulous vibe. It’s modern, balanced, and a little bit fun too. Maybe you have the perfect occasion to wear it?
And that’s a wrap from the Talbot’s dressing room! Several of these sweaters came home with me, so stay tuned as I share additional outfit ideas for them in my upcoming posts.
