Top Ten Best Sellers for June
Last month in May’s best sellers, we started to see the shift from spring to summer clothes. There was a little bit of everything from dresses to sweaters to tops. So, whether you are looking for a pretty dress for a backyard barbecue or something to wear on your summer vacation, take a look at what the Fabulous After 40 readers loved last month.
1. Metallic Button Front Top
This darling puff sleeve striped shirt is light and breezy for summer and has a pretty metallic thread running through it. Pair it with white jeans or pants for a casual summer look.
2. Striped Popover Shirtdress
Inject new life into your summer work wardrobe with this lightweight, easy-to-style popover shirtdress. It’s made from a wrinkle-free stretch fabric, so you can pack it for a business trip or wear it with confidence all day long knowing it won’t wrinkle.
3. Eyelet Halter Fit and Flare Dress
If you’re heading to a festive gathering this summer, this red halter dress is a nice alternative to wearing head-to-toe red, white, and blue. Beautifully detailed eyelet and a scalloped hem add to the visual appeal of this dress. For more ideas for what to wear for the festive holidays this summer, click here.
4. Short Sleeve Open-Stitch Top
When you want something that’s just as comfortable as a tee shirt but a little more elevated and dressed up, go for this beautiful open-stitch top. It looks like you’re draped in a pretty lace doily.
5. Elbow Sleeve Crochet Sweater
Crochet is trending this summer, and if you buy one crochet top, make it black and white, because that’s what’s hot! This elbow-length open-stitch sweater is perfect for the summer months because it offers coverage while keeping you cool. Check out this post for more modern ways to wear crochet.
6. Striped Tie-Neck Top
This striped tie-neck blouse is adorable for summer. It’s a bit boho with a dash of cozy, and it’s a perfect pairing for these garment-dyed jeans, shorts, or even white jeans. I love the bold blue and white combination of this look. It reminds of the balmy shores of Greece.
7. White Cropped Pants
These versatile cropped pants come in seven colors, but I love how the white pair have a nice, sleek, modern cut with a slim but not skinny leg and are super comfortable – stretchy but not tight.
8. Animal Print One-Shoulder Swimsuit
Pool or beach, you’ll come roaring onto the scene in this flattering one-shoulder one-piece swimsuit from Miraclesuit. The strap is adjustable so you can get the fit just right. Show up with your confidence and your chic safari-style.
9. Sleeveless Sheath Dress
This darling pink sheath dress from Tommy Bahama, which I’ve been wearing on repeat, is fabulous, and it’s easy to see why. The beautiful shape and subtle ruffle at the hem make it stand out. It’s got a fun, flirty feel without being too short. Don’t miss 10 more summer dresses to make you stand out over 40, 50, 60 and beyond!
10. Girlfriend Flare Jeans
In the summer heat, jeans may be the last thing on your mind. But there are occasions when you’ll want a comfortable and slimming pair of jeans for a casual weeknight dinner out. This pair of flare jeans is made with a slimming fabric that smooths your waistline, and of course, the flared leg elongates, giving you the look of legs for miles.
I’m looking for ideas for long-sleeve tops and sweaters with the Talbots teal satin skirt. It’s a beautiful skirt, and I know I can wear it with black, cream, or winter white—as well as similar teal colors from Talbots. (Talbots sweaters are too long on me, so those won’t work. Their button-down blouse in a similar color is beautiful, but I’m not sure about a button-down.) I’m open to things from other companies.
Hi Dee Dee, First off, congrats on your purchase. That teal satin skirt is truly stunning, and here’s what I would wear it with. I love satin and cashmere so that I would wear a long-sleeved crew neck or V-neck cashmere sweater in white or off-white. Then I would accessorize with silver, which makes teal look amazing and is very on-trend this year. I love this choice for Fall and the holiday season. Teal is such a rich color, and combined with white and silver, it is very classy and modern. Check out Quince for an inexpensive cashmere. Banana Republic also has great cashmere, although more expensive, and Nordstrom usually has a good selection. You say Talbot sweaters are too long on you. Do you need a petite size? They do sell petites. Thanks for popping by. Cheers, Deborah
