Cute Knit Summer Tops You Can Wear Into Fall – Under $40!
Hi Ladies! Summer is slowly fading, and fall is coming into view. One of the easiest ways to transition is with a knit summer top. Here are a few cute ones I’ve been wearing lately.
They’re lightweight and stylish, but best of all, they’re all under $40. Take a look.

Puff Sleeve Knit Summer Top
I love this delicate Puff sleeve knit, which is very thin and soft, thanks to a bit of cashmere thrown in. A V-neck is always so flattering because it opens up your chest and elongates your neck, making you look lovely and tall.
As you know, puff sleeves are in style, but I’ve been careful about wearing them. I don’t want to look like a Disney princess my age!
A knit top like this is an excellent way to dip your toe in the trend. The puff sleeves are small, and since this is a knit, they don’t puff out as much as on some tops. This top looks pretty without being too girly.
It helps that I have paired my beautiful Lavender colored knit top with these fabulous black jeans and black sandals. These jeans are from Levis, a brand I haven’t worn in years, and I was pleasantly surprised to rediscover them. They are one of my favorite pairs because they are straight-leg (right in style), stretchy, and, best of all, thin and lightweight. If you have watched my Amazon Livestreams, I always talk about them!
You can wear them in summer with sandals, as I’ve done here, or throw on a pair of booties and a cute jacket come September when it’s cooler. Not sure if you know, but Lavender has become a significant player in the classic fall color palette. I wrote a blog post about wearing Lavender in fall here!
Woven Tank Top
Oh my gosh, this is a cute tank top! I was tired of tees and thought a summer knit tank would look great with white jeans, a straw bag, and a pair of oversized sunglasses. This gold/camel color immediately attracted me because it seemed like sunny beach sand. At first, I thought it might be scratchy, but it’s not. It’s a fabulous tank with a rolled neckline and arm detail. It’s lightweight, has a beautiful texture, and I think it kicks up a casual summer outfit and makes it fab.
I plan to wear this right into the fall. I have a green cargo jacket (they’re trendy) and something like that with my white jeans and booties, and a fab leather bag would make a great transitional outfit when it’s still sort of summer and sort of fall. This would also look great with black or blue jeans since gold and blue is very rich looking! This top also has many other great colors, so check this out!
Chic Cotton Sweater
Mod, that’s the word that comes to mind when I look at this chic geometric cotton sweater. It’s got a very clean, fresh modern vibe and looks stunning with these Spanx wide-leg white jeans. There’s also something nautical about it worn with white jeans. I could see this outfit by the water, near the marina, out for dinner, boating, whatever.
Great news, Spanx has just released black wide-leg jeans, so you could pick up a pair of those and have this same look but in darker colors for fall. Again, switching out the sandals for a suede mule would be nice, and you don’t need to do much else. This fabulous navy and white cotton sweater with the beautiful trim is a statement maker on its own.
Creamy Summer Cableknit
When you’re looking for a creamy white top to wear with jeans or under a blazer, do you think you can find it? No, which is why I grabbed this beautiful off-white summer knit top with the beautiful wave stitching. It looks great in summer, as shown here, with black jeans and black sandals. Black and white are chic all year round.
I can see myself wearing it in fall with dark wash jeans, booties, and a fabulous fall jacket– dark green or black would be nice. The texture adds great dimension to an outfit.
Ribbed Summer Knit Top
This gorgeous pink knit top is stunning year-round. I love to pack it when I travel for those days when it’s a little bit too cool for a tee, but you don’t want something hot and heavy. It’s a long sweater, so you can wear it tucked out or in. In the fall, switch the white jeans for gray, black, or any wash blue jeans. The boat neckline is super flattering and gives rounded shoulders more shape. It also looks fabulous layered with a long jacket.
Polo Knit Top
This is a favorite top that I have been wearing a lot. I love it with white jeans and these cute white sandals. The Polo style has been trending, but it didn’t feel new until I came across this polo summer knit top with the cutest scalloped neckline. This feminine detail and the sporty ribbing sold me. It’s a nice twist on a polo top and so comfy too. I love Lavender with dark wash jeans or black jeans. Any dark denim worn with a pastel color is a striking, modern combo.
Bootcut jeans would look nice with this top, or straight leg too. Of course, you can also wear it with a skirt in the fall. Perhaps even try wearing a long black cardigan with it. It’s very lightweight, so as long as your cardigan is thin, you’d have no problem.
