Long Summer Tops That Make White Jeans Pop

Black leggings worn with a long sweater look great in the winter, but once summer arrives, that’s just too heavy a look. What do you swap it out for?

Long Tops White Pants - Coral Stripes

striped long top

Long Striped Shirt + White Flare Jeans

Try white jeans and a long top for a classy, casual look. This long, striped peach shirt with its vertical lines is relaxed and very slimming. This button-up tunic has a nautical feel that is perfect for summer, but the pretty peach color makes it new and different. Peach is such a beautiful color this time of year, especially when you have a touch of a tan. You just glow!

I’m a huge fan of 3/4 length sleeves because they give you some arm coverage but don’t make you look old. Three-quarter length sleeves are sporty and youthful, and the rolled-up cuff on these is especially flattering.

I’ve paired this with a white whipstitch bag and sandals because I like how the white makes the lines on the shirt pop and ties the whole look together.

Long Linen Shirt + White Skinny Jeans

Linen is always so fresh and breezy for summer, and this chambray linen tunic looks especially fabulous in this mouthwatering shade of Key Lime green. No worries about getting this top crumpled. It is all part of linen’s charm. Don’t you love the spread collar on this shirt? It’s little details like this that give a simple shirt great style!

chambray tunic

Long Chambray Tunic +  White Frayed Hem Jeans

A chambray tunic is another excellent choice to pair with crisp white jeans. I like this A-line chambray tunic because it looks very soft, and because it has minimal detail, it looks more elegant than a chambray shirt with pockets and a lot of stitching, etc.  When you are searching for a chambray top, don’t forget to check out chambray shirtdresses. I find that many are too short for me to wear as a dress, but they make great long tops!  It’s the quickest way to look updated.

Did you notice the hem on these jeans? That’s the new frayed hem that is so in this summer. A pair of jeans with a frayed hem is the quickest way to look updated this summer. Some hems are more frayed than others, so look around, and I’m sure you can find a pair that feels right for you.

Just a note about the accessories. Your first thought might be to pair this outfit with white accessories to match the white pants, but look how richer it is with this tan bag and fabulous tan suede slides. A touch of gold jewelry also elevates the look.

Here are a few more really nice long tops and tunics that would look wonderful with white jeans this summer. If you prefer leggings, all these tops will work with white leggings, too, so long as your bottom and crotch were totally covered. White leggings are semi-transparent, and you need to be covered front and back, or it’s too much information, if you know what I mean.

  1. Hi,
Thank you for finally giving me the ideas on how to use my white pants again. I bought them a while back and I was wearing them with a few subtle solid colored tops but then it got boring and I packed my white pants in the never wear again section of the wordeobe. I really liked the linen shirt idea and I am going to try it out tonight when I go to the movies.

  2. I love white skinny jeans and pants — they are more summery, it’s true! But I notice (on myself) that white tight-fitting skinnies and leggings are not as flattering (they really show off the cellulite if you’re not trim and fit!) unless the tunic or dress is long enough to cover the bumpy areas of the thighs. I still wear my black leggings in summer, just as I would wear a black sundress or maxi skirt. I like black leggings in summer with white linen tunics and other summery tops. Silver metallic sandals keep the look lighter, I think.
