How to Style a Funnel Neck Sweater with Jeans
Turtlenecks come in all shapes and collar heights, and one of my favorites is the funnel neck sweater. Here’s what makes it a little bit different, and how to style this green funnel neck sweater to look fabulous with jeans.
A traditional turtleneck sweater that folds over below the jawline will never go out of style, but I find that a straight-cut funnel neck is fresher and more modern. Some say wearing a funnel neck sweater makes it looks like you are growing up out of your top, and if you look at mine, you can see what they mean.
Instead of a seam between the sweater and the collar, a funnel neck is a continuous extension of the bodice. The neck is slightly wider at the top like a funnel, it sits upright and doesn’t fold over, giving you a sleek, sophisticated look.
I fell in love with this rich green shade, and this extra soft, cozy knit. It looks fabulous with touches of gold like my fabulous Dean Davidson braided huggie earrings, braided bangle, and Manhattan chain bracelet.
But what drew me in was the texture. This beautiful cable knit funnel neck sweater has a gorgeous pattern that adds class and excitement. The twisty, raised cable knit weave reminds me of a flowing river.

I added straight-leg jeans cropped just above the ankle to keep the look modern. These ones have a slight taper, but they are not as tight at the ankle as skinny jeans.
Black is stunning in this green funnel neck sweater, but you could also wear regular blue jeans. I’d personally stick to a dark wash if you want to play up that stunning jewel green color. A black belt, my new black Coach bag, and a pair of rust boots for contrast make this a classy, polished casual outfit.
This is a classic way to style this mock neck cable knit sweater, but if you want to go a bit edgier, try this…..
Switch out the earthy brown suede booties for fine black leather booties. Then add a leopard print belt, and a black leather jacket! Black, green, and a touch of animal print are always a stunning combo. You don’t need a lot to make this outfit roar. I also added this Chanel-inspired black leather jacket. I love the beautiful quilting and elegant vibe this gives off.
This outfit is creative and cool without being over the top. It’s a great look to experiment with if you are trying to go into a more urban, edgy direction with your clothes. My beautiful cable knit funnel neck sweater is from Amazon Fashion. Just click the links below to shop for this post.
