How to Rock Faux Suede Flare Pants
What’s more luxe than denim but not as edgy as leather? If you guessed Suede, you’re right! If you wear a lot of pants as I do, and want something a bit different, have a look at my new faux suede flare pants. Here’s why I have been wearing these non-stop lately, plus some tips on how to style them to look fabulous at any age.
There’s something about fall and a pair of beautiful suede pants that seems like the perfect combo. Suede is rich and classy and elevates any look, but it also has a warm, rustic, down-to-earth vibe that is very inviting. Last season I shared a pair of faux suede skinny jeans that I was really enjoying. Now I’ve discovered these fabulous flares.
These gorgeous faux suede flare pants are from Spanx, (caramel is is his year’s shade- lighter then these), and wow, are they fantastic! I have always been a big Spanx fan because I think they make the best leggings around. I wear them all the time (See my collection here). So when I saw Spanx now had suede flares, I was excited to give them a try.
These pants are really great! They have the exact stretchy, ultra-comfy fit that Spanx is so famous for. I love the flat front, pull-on style, which means no bulk around the tummy, and they’re very easy to style. See how they are sleek and fitted from the waist to the knee, then gently flare out to a beautiful wide leg?
There’s something kind of 70’s inspired about them, but they look and feel very modern when you have them on. Yes, they are a little on the long side, but I wouldn’t have them any other way because when you throw on booties (mine are 31/4″), they make your legs go on for miles!
And of course, that chocolate brown is so lovely looking ( they also come in navy), and this tone-on-tone mix is an easy way to get a sophisticated look.
Maybe you are wondering why faux suede instead of genuine suede? The answer is easy. Spanx needed to build in their famous stretch, and they couldn’t do that with regular suede, but besides that, many women, including myself, prefer faux suede over suede for these reasons
1) faux suede is animal friendly
2) faux suede doesn’t fray or matte the way genuine suede can
3) faux suede is a lot easier to clean, and you don’t have to worry about spilling water on it since it is coated with a water-resistant repellant
3) it’s cheaper
4) faux is less heavy, stiff, and comfier
One of my favorite looks with any wide-leg flare jeans is to wear them with a long cardigan. I paired this lovely mock neck camel sweater from Goodthreads at Amazon with this long Grandpa cardigan (similar) I had in my closet from last year. ( See how my Grandpa cardigan back then). Then I added my favorite brown suede booties and this pretty Kendra Scott pendant. Of course, there are lots of other ways to style these faux suede flare pants.
I also really love these pants with any kind of animal print. Animal print and brown suede are a striking mix. This is a long animal print tunic sweater I have had for a while. ( See how else I wear it here).
You could also wear a silky animal print blouse with brown suede pants or a cardigan or jacket. I just love the leopard with the faux suede texture. It’s a natural.
There’s the look! Imagine snuggling up in a pair of these over the holidays! Classy and comfy!!- hard to find these days. To shop these outfits, just click the shop links above!
