3 Ways to Rock Red Pants at Holiday Time!

The closer we get to Christmas, the more I feel like wearing something bright red! How about you?

Although most gals feel comfortable throwing on a festive red top, wearing bright red pants takes a little more confidence! Wouldn’t you agree?

Not to worry! Today, I’m sharing 3-holiday red pants outfits: cozy, classy, and glam, that are easy to pull together, and won’t leave you feeling like a giant red stop sign.

Let’s start with the Pants!

From red velvet skinny jeans to red sequin palazzo pants and everything in between, there’s a style of red pants for every personality and body type.

Bright red is bold and beautiful, but sometimes it can come across as loud, so I like to pull that back a touch.

My idea of the perfect red pant is chic, tailored with minimal detail, so my red pants don’t overpower whatever I wear up top.

This year, I went for Talbots classic Hampshire Pants. I wore the same pants in brown  in the fall,  and they looked so elegant I thought they’d look gorgeous in red.

I love the sleek, straight-leg cut and how they end above my ankle. Some cropped pants are so short they’re not flattering. To me, these are the perfect length,

As for the fabric, it’s fantastic! It’s a year-round double cotton with built-in stretch, so the pants move with you, but they hold their shape, so you always look polished and classy.

1. Cozy Look: Red Pants & Ivory Sweater

This time of year, ivory and red are a classic combination; ask Santa! I’ve paired a soft, super pretty tunic sweater in warm ivory with my red pants. This is a great sweater for gals who want to cover their midlife middle because it’s a little longer than most. It works best with slim-leg or skinny pants since it’s more boxy than fitted.

Click the link to the sweater to see that it has the tiniest sparkle running through it. It is a classy way to look festive in a very subtle way.

A bit of print and texture always makes an outfit fabulous, so I added these cute Chanel-inspired slingbacks. They’re flat, comfortable, and a chic way to tie the whole look together.

2. Classy Look: Red Pants & Black Sheer Sleeve Top

Black and red is another timeless holiday party combo. If this black top looks familiar, that’s because I modeled it recently with black pants, and it was a huge hit.

I love the mixed media – a knit v-neck + alluring sheer sleeves.  Add these slim red pants and party heels with delicate crystal bows for a modern party look.

3. Glam Look: Red Pants & Sparkly Gold Top

Finally, if you want to turn up the glam, gold + red is one of my favorite combos! And sequins help a lot, too! I’ve had this gold sequin top for years, and it never fails to transform jeans, black pants, or, in this case, red pants into something “wow.” This upscale casual holiday look is clean, chic, and has star power! Get ready to light up the room!

*BONUS – All the Talbots items in this post are now 50% off- pants, black top and white sweater, so hurry while supplies last!
