How to Red Pants this Winter and Look Sporty
Once the holiday season begins, the stores are flooded with festive red sweaters, coats, and pants. You may feel comfortable throwing on a red top with jeans or black pants, but it takes a little more confidence to wear bright, red pants! What do you wear with them?
There are two approaches. You can go with a solid neutral top to tone things down, or have some fun with a pattern. Here’s an idea for a casual red pants outfit that’s sporty and modern.
Red is bright and fun, so a natural way to style red pants is to create a sporty look based on the Chalet Chic trend.
This cozy striped sweater has a vibrant, apres-ski vibe. Paired with red pants makes you look like you just stepped off the slopes.
The sweater is ribbed, adding much-needed texture to the smooth, skinny pants.
Chalet chic style is ski-inspired, but it’s also more refined. So I’ve added these luxe black suede booties and my go-to red Gucci bag.
A cozy, lightweight down puffer coat is a great way to finish the look. I love this one because it’s similar to the Burgundy Mackage Parka I bought a couple of years ago. Both are more fitted than a regular parka and give me a slim, streamlined look. Since it’s a neutral color it doesn’t, it doesn’t compete with my red pants outfit.

Hugs,
Robin,
Thanks, Robin, It’s a cozy look, and red pants are a nice pick-me-up in the middle of dreary February.
Love your bright and cute outfit. After reading this, I have some red pants I need to break out of. I hadn’t heard of the chalet chic trend, but it sounds terrific.
