Do you have a striped t-shirt in your wardrobe??
I like to have one handy year round because stripes go with so many things. This the latest striped tee I’ve bought and I’m really enjoying it! The reason? Let me explain…
First off, this is a super comfy tee. It’s soft, silky-smooth and light with a touch of stretch. It feels great against my skin and that’s important because comfort is key for me!
Second, look at the style. It’s not your average striped t-shirt. I love the double layered sheer hemline that is that is soft and flowy. It’s such a simple detail that makes this tee just a lit bit different and so feminine!
The scoop neckline on this top is so flattering. It elongates the neck in the way a simple crew neckline would not, and there’s even a bit of metallic ball and chain detail sewn in along the neckline that gives your face a touch of shimmer. Click here to zoom in and take a closer look.
Long sleeves are perfect for year-round wear, and I appreciate that side slit at the hip which makes this top easy to wear whether you go up or down five pounds. This creamy ivory shade is also so much more flattering to the skin than stark white and so much richer looking too.
And do you see the fit through the sides? It’s not tight but it has shape, which is so important when you are buying a basic piece like this!
Of course, stripes are classic, appropriate and sporty, which means they give any outfit a youthful vibe. I’ve paired this tee with a gorgeous burgundy cardigan and black jeans which really make it pop, but it is the kind of top that can work with your regular blue jeans or even dress pants.
Cream with black stripes is a neutral print and would go with any color.
In fact, this top is so comfy and versatile, I’m tempted to pick it up in another color too. It comes in 9 shades!
When I shot this outfit a few weeks ago it was full price, but lucky for all of us, it’s now on sale at 30% off, so do check it out. This is one wardrobe staple that will make your life easy and stylish.
Love to see the inclusion of some items from White House Black Market – have been very happy with some of the items I’ve purchased there this past year (including the shirt pictured) and their stylists are always very helpful.
Lovely comfy looking outfit.
Where or have you discussed horizontal stripes on larger women? Today;s outfit has a top with horizontal stripes and then there was the Daphe Horizontal Stripe Wool & Cashmere sweater, plus the striped blanket poncho. You’re nice and trim and everything looks “fabulous” on you! However,, I personally stay away from such stripes which seem to make me look wider. Your comments on this please.
Hi Barbara,
The finer the stripes are and the closer they are together the more slimming they are. Also stripes of low contrast (light blue on white) compared to high contrast ( black on white) are more slimming. On a large woman, also think about the length of the garment. The longer the garment the easier to wear as the stripes appear like a ladder as the eye moves up and down rather than side to side. I hope that helps! Cheers, Deborah
