The Cute Travel Dress I Wore in Florida

I just got back from Florida and what made my trip (besides the gorgeous sunshine, ocean water, and tropical heat) was this cute little dress that I took along.

I’m all about no-fuss and total comfort when I’m on vacation, so this darling print shift dress (similar) worked so perfectly for me.

This is the kind of dress that was made for travel! Don’t worry if it gets all scrunched up in your suitcase. Just shake it out when you arrive, toss it on, and you are good to go. You’ll look just as fabulous walking down the beach as going out to dinner in this clever little number.

If this dress looks familiar, it’s because you also saw me wearing it at the Chico’s #howboldareyou campaign earlier this month. I wore it with boots! Talk about versatility.

I love bold colors, and this hot pink is super fresh and stunning. This dress has a lot of energy and a fun vibe, but it’s still super classy. It’s got a similar feel to another Chico’s dress I took last year to Florida, which I also loved, and you did too. It was a sell-out!

Isn’t this a great look? The polyester-spandex fabric mix means this dress is smooth, stretchy, and machine washable, which I always appreciate.

Chico’s has some fantastic jewelry too. I buy a lot of my jewelry there. I thought this turquoise collar necklace and drop earrings were especially pretty and “beachy” looking. I love the way the turquoise pops against the pink.

Do you see how the dress nips in at the waist, just ever so slightly? It feels loose on, but it’s not baggy – the perfect combination of comfort and shape.

I plan to wear this dress back home too as we shift into spring, and there’s no doubt I’ll be taking it with me again on my summer holidays in August.

Note: This dress had sold out, but here is a very similar dress.

  1. Hi! The Medallion Shift Dress is adorable, and you look fantastic in it. However, the problem with the cute dress is that it is polyester, and I will be hot and sticky in it if I ever go on a real vacation to a warm beach. I’ll admit, it’s called a relaxed fit which will help enormously, but I’ll still be hot and sticky.

Any options for a cotton/spandex blend? I know it won’t travel as well; I’d instead steam the dress than burn me.

    Love your tips!! Thanks!!

  2. The length of the Chico dress looks better in your blog than in the store ad. Did you shorten it an inch or two? Or maybe you are just tall!

    1. Hi Elizabeth, No, I did not shorten it. I’m 5’7″. Someone else mentioned this to me, and I got thinking, I wonder if the model had short legs or something. I found it to be an average-length dress.

  3. I think you look perfect! I love those colors too. I can’t wear polyester, though. It just makes me sweat too much, and I’m amazed at how expensive polyester clothing is. I have now turned into someone who checks the label before even considering the item of clothing.

  4. I adore your blog posts! They’re so inspirational! I love what you do, and the things you post are precisely the things I’m interested in.
