Classy Ways to Wear Leggings at Christmas & New Years

Most of us think of leggings as pretty casual, but there’s a lot you can do to dress them up, especially this time of year. Leggings are a chic and comfortable choice for a holiday party when paired with a festive top and some holiday-themed accessories.  Here are five classy Christmas party outfit ideas with leggings.

1.  Slip on a Sparkly Tunic

Dressing head-toe in shades of black and gray look sophisticated and slimming. Add a sparkly fabric with metallic fibers to your monochromatic look, and you create a holiday outfit that is glamorous and chic. Suede boots, a velvet bag, and swingy beaded earrings make you party-ready. Get ready to shine!

2.  Wear a Crisp White Shirt with Holiday Accessories

Nothing looks as fresh and snowy white as a long, crisp white shirt. This one is a beauty with its black piping and tuxedo styling. All you need are a couple of touches of Holiday red to make this look fabulous. Ho-Ho-ho, and you’re ready to go!

3.  Turn a  Short Party Dress Into a Top

When you see a glam party dress you love but think it’s way too short to feel comfortable in, add a pair of leggings. By doing this, you are transforming your dress into a beautiful tunic. When you accessorize it with a sleek clutch and refined suede booties, you have a cool and edgy holiday evening outfit.

4.  Get Festive in a Green Asymmetrical Top

It’s Christmas, so why not wear something evergreen? This artsy green top was made for modern gals who like to dress with an edge. The asymmetrical hem is bold and dramatic, perfect for holiday cocktail parties and mixing and mingling. Wear it with leather leggings for a sexy holiday vibe.

5.  Cozy up in a Long Sweater with a Christmas Vibe

A long sweater is always a great idea with leggings. This modern, color-blocked one will turn heads. Imagine cozying up with friends for a chat by the fire, drink in hand. Wouldn’t this red and burgundy mix look beautiful beside the flickering flames? I love the neckline, too. It’s high, like a turtleneck, but more graceful. In other words, it won’t bunch up any extra skin on your neck like a Christmas turkey.

    1. Hi Julia,
I think they’re even comfier than jammies. One of my favorite ways to wear them is with an oversized soft cashmere sweater. Heaven! Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I could live in leggings. I have never had anything feel so comfortable in all my life. The leather leggings look great. I wonder if they are more comfortable since the leather is only in the front. Hmmm…

    1. Hi Susanne, I’ve had leather leggings and leather leggings with the leather just in front, and yes, the latter is comfier. There’s more stretch, and they feel lighter too!
