The quickest way to jump into the new season is to update your wardrobe with a pair of on-trend Fall jeans. I find Nordstrom has one of the best selections around. But with so many styles, how do you choose?
Skinnies, Slim, Straight, bootcut, flare, palazzo, wide-leg, barrel, long, ankle, cropped… the list goes on and on.
So let’s make it easy. Today I’m sharing the 3 styles of “It jeans” that feel fresh and modern. Take a look at what’s popular and how to style them.

1. Straight Leg Jeans
After years of wearing skinny, fitted jeans that hugged every inch of your legs, we’ve turned to a slightly more relaxed style. Instead of being tapered, straight-leg jeans are consistently wide from your thigh to your ankle, creating a classic, laid-back silhouette. Women love them because they are timeless, comfortable, and easy to wear. These Mother Kick It High Waist Straight Leg Jeans are a great example of a stylish fall basic that is also very affordable.
How to Style them: A ribbed sweater and a chocolate brown cropped trench. Easygoing but very cool!

2. Wide Leg Jeans
Another super popular silhouette? Wide leg jeans… but not just any old wide leg. The key is to find a pair that doesn’t overwhelm. I’ve found that the best wide leg jeans have a high waist, are very snug across the stomach and hips, and then gently flare out. They’re not wide from waist to hem. By nipping in at the waist and skimming over your hips, you avoid a bulky, bottom-heavy look, and instead create the illusion of an hourglass figure.
For example, these beautiful brown Wit and Wisdom Sam high-waisted jeans are high-waisted and snug. There’s no bulkiness, and they create shape by highlighting your waist
How to style them? Show off your waistline with a close-fitting top, sweater, or blouse with a front half tuck. The brown color of these jeans makes them look rich and velvety.

3. Boot Cut Jeans
I’m jumping around a bit here, but I wanted to go back for a second to a less wide style – baby bootcut jeans. These Wit and Wisdom Brittany high-waist baby bootcut are my absolute favorite! Skinnies feel a little dated, and straight legs are nice, but since I’m very hourglass, a bootcut is a classic cut that is always flattering because it is slim through the leg with a modest flare.
How to Style them: With a cozy cashmere sweater, gorgeous camel fall coat, and chic suede booties. Add some gold jewelry and big sunglasses for a classy fall look.

So which is your favorite? Straight Leg, Wide Leg, or Bootcut? Let me know what works, what doesn’t, and why.

I love the slim straight because of being petite.
Hi Bonnie, I understand. The wide leg can swallow you up! My favorite are slim straight too because I’m not petite, but I’m fine boned. Jeans that sit closer to my body are better for me.
