How I Styled My Leopard Sweatshirt

Sometimes, comfort is key, and you feel like wearing an oversized comfy loose sweatshirt. How do you pull that off without looking sloppy or frumpy?

Here are five things I thought about when I styled this leopard sweatshirt. (similar)

1. Style of Sweatshirt

There are many sweatshirts out there, and most I would pass right by, but this style caught my eye. If I’m going to be comfy, why not do it in style? This cute sweatshirt is slightly different from most because of the longer tunic shape and modern side slits. Instead of sitting at the waist or top of the hip, it falls straight down, giving it a new look. I pushed up the sleeves to make it look even more sporty.

2.  Leopard Print

Solid-colored sweatshirts seem dull, and I’m not into advertising anything on the front of my sweatshirt, but the idea of this animal print grabbed me. Leopard has been trending, and I liked the subtle leopard print in this sweatshirt.

3.  Bottom Half Counts

This sweatshirt is oversized, so you get that big roomy look-up top. If I wore this with just any pants, I would look as wide as a house. But the key is to wear a roomy sweatshirt like this with skinny jeans. That looks chic. Taupe skinny jeans or jeggings pull the print together.  They have a high waist and fantastic stretch and land just at the perfect spot above your ankles.

4. Monochromatic Color Scheme

I could have worn my leopard sweatshirt with any color of pants, including jeans, but as you know, I like more of an elegant look, so I opted for a tone-on-tone color scheme. The jeans coordinate with the top, the shoes, and the bag. It’s like one long wash of color, which looks more elegant and slimming- just what I need when wearing such a voluminous top.

5. Upscale Accessories

It’s amazing how accessories can elevate something as simple as a sweatshirt and a pair of pants. The bag, the shoes, my earrings, and the pink sunglasses finish off the look. Suddenly a sweatshirt is chic!
