How to Style a Wrap Coat for Winter

These days, fashion is all about effortless dressing, so it’s no surprise that wrap coats have become so popular in winter.

Last Christmas my husband bought me this chic red wrap coat from Sentaler. I was attracted to the gorgeous color, quality and the detail at the cuffs and I’m just loving it!

Wrap coats are super comfy especially this one since it is Alpaca. They’re warm and cozy, and they have no buttons, just a tie belt, so they make you feel like you are wearing a snuggly, elegant bathrobe.

How to Wear a Wrap Coat

I like to wear my wrap coat with a black turtleneck, and black pants since it makes the coat pop. If you like a softer look, this wrap coat would also look fabulous with an black pants and an off-white or cream sweater.

Black pants are always so classy with red, but you can also wear blue jeans or even a dress.

I love the soft, rounded shawl collar. This one has a beautiful Portrait collar shape that  frames your face. The wide collar also makes your shoulders look wider, which in turn makes your hips look slimmer. (Great trick)

Where to Wear a Wrap Coat

The thing I love most about wrap coats is they’re warm, but not heavy. They’re perfect for chilly fall days when you are dashing around outside, picking up the dry cleaning, getting groceries, or running to the bank. You look casual but classy, and you feel good.

Dress up your wrap coat with a pretty scarf, some gloves, and a fab bag for a dressy work or out-to-dinner look.

Fun Fact: Did you know Princess Catherine wear Sentaler! It famous world wide and it’s Canadian.

  1. I love that coat! I have a bright purple wrap coat, and the lapel part extends to a hood at the back. My hem at the front is rounded (tulip shaped?) – I think I prefer your straight hem! Anyway, I love it and always get compliments when I wear it, apart from my teenagers who think it looks like a weird bathrobe…I guess they get points for honesty.

  2. Hello Deborah! The minute I saw you wearing that gorgeous wrap coat on FB, I was like: Oh my! I love it! It is the perfect coat to own, especially if you live here in FL, just because it doesn’t get that cold during the fall or winter. I love how you styled it, and you are so right; the bigger the necklace, the better, and yours is just perfect! Have a wonderful weekend! XOXO, Jeannette

  3. Deborah, I love the idea of this coat. First, the extensive lapel styling is classy and elevates the coat’s look. But then, you have the comfy fabric that looks like it would wrap you like a blanket. So, you’ve got style and function wrapped into one! I would probably go for black, but that’s not too shocking!

    Happy Fall,
