Tie Sleeve Blouse Looks Wow With White Jeans
I’m a huge fan of white jeans because they’re like a painter’s canvas. Just splash a bit of color on top, and you have a wow summer outfit.
In my next few posts, I will show you three cute tops that look fabulous with white jeans. Here’s the first.
blouse | jeans | studded sandals | gold bracelet | white bracelet | necklace | clutch ( similar)
This is a very pretty little top I just picked up from Ann Taylor. I’m really enjoying it. The colors, the pattern, the sleeves… It’s cute and feminine.
It’s got such a fresh summer feel, yet it’s a top that can easily shift into September. I like having a few transitional tops in my closet like this because the weather is so all over the map in early fall.
There are so many things that drew me to this top. First of all, the color is stunning. That rich blue against the white is almost regal. Even though this is a casual top, the crisp color combination makes it very classy.
I also like the breezy, elegant feel of this top. I find that more and more I’m into loose, flowy things because they are comfy and they always look elegant.
Some flowy tops don’t have many shapes, so you have to be careful about that, but this one is more streamlined, so it flows gently over my hips and isn’t too baggy at the waist.
The pattern is a classic tropical floral print, but in blue, it looks more contemporary. And take a look at those sleeves…
Wow, these sleeves are just gorgeous. When you wear a top with tie sleeves like this, you feel so feminine. I’m crazy about this simple detail!
I chose to accessorize my blouse with a blush clutch bag. I was debating between this and a bright red tote which also looked really great and gave the outfit a very perky feel. But I decided on the blush clutch because it was softer and dressier for where I was going – out to a quiet dinner with my husband.
My two bracelets really highlight those sleeves. They are simple and fine because I’m small-boned. I wanted them to match my body type and the fine feel of the blouse.
Here’s a look at my sandals. You’ve probably noticed that I have been wearing these a lot! They’re from Michael Kors, and they are super comfy because of that stacked heel. They go with everything.
The jeans are from Not Your Daughter’s Jeans. I like the touch of fringe on the hem, which is so chic at the moment. It keeps the outfit from looking too precious, which can translate into looking old.
The necklace may be familiar too. I’ve worn it in other outfit posts. It’s a pretty mother of pearl pendant from Kendra Scott. When I slipped it on, I said, Yes! The tassel look complemented the sweet bow tie sleeves so well.
Here’s that darling sleeve one more time. I love the subtle slit too, and that curved shirttail hem on the blouse is so much more flattering to the hips than a hem that cuts straight across.
One last look! Have a great week.
I agree about white jeans. I think they look fresh. I am wearing mine to death this summer! When it comes to flowy tops, I always say, “skim, don’t cling” that way, they’re not hugging your body but also not billowing out like a tent! And you brought up the idea of the outfit looking “precious.” In a future post, could you describe that more? There seems to be a thin line between looking dated and too young, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on that. Happy Monday!

I am 67 yrs old and the stepmother of the groom. I plan to wear a conservative dress, but since no one wears a hose anymore, what is a lady my age to do? I don’t have nice legs and going bare-legged terrifies me!
Hi Debra, There’s no rule you can’t wear a hose. I would certainly wear them to a wedding. Just be sure to wear an ultra-sheer, natural-colored hose. I wear Donna Karan nudes. You will find them here: http://rstyle.me/n/crkmbyb52f7They are nearly invisible! Have fun!
