Black is the most obvious choice for a leather moto jacket, but I prefer burgundy instead. Burgundy, (sometimes called Wine or Cognac), has a luxurious, warm look. And best of all, it doesn’t wash you out. Here’s my idea for what to wear with a burgundy leather jacket to look classy at any age.
I had been on the lookout for a fabulous burgundy leather moto jacket for a quite a while, so I was thrilled to nab this one at 60% off. Leather jackets are such a great item to have in your wardrobe because you can wear them almost year-round, and they add a youthful edge to a pair of pants or even a dress.
If I’m buying something a little edgy, it’s still got to be feminine. That’s just my style, which is why I liked this particular jacket made of buttery soft leather that is thin and lightweight.
I also love the style. It’s simple, with clean lines and not a lot of hardware. It has an elegance to it that I love even though it is a “biker jacket.”
You could wear this jacket with blue jeans, but I chose skinny black jeans. Skinny jeans are my favorite type of pants to wear with a moto jacket. There’s nothing cooler! If you look closer, you will notice that these jeans are black velvet, not denim.
Velvet is so luxurious and a nice change from denim in the wintertime. Velvet jeans have been super popular this season. I think they are a great way to add some interesting texture to your outfit. Leather and velvet are fabulous together. Throw in a pair of black suede booties into the mix, and it makes things even more exciting.
As for my color scheme, I chose burgundy, camel, and black. They are classic, old-world/ old money colors, meaning they never fail to make you look sophisticated.
I think a scarf always looks fantastic with a leather moto jacket. It softens the look of leather, which can sometimes make you look a bit tough, and a print adds another dimension. I had fun adding this playful pink and burgundy leopard print scarf. I love the tone-on-tone effect. There are so many fabulous scarves out there that you could pair with a jacket like this.
I’m ready to get on with my day, and I feel chic and confident in my new look. I know I am going to get a ton of wear out of this burgundy leather jacket for a very long while. Now is the time to pick up a leather jacket as the winter season winds down, and many are on sale. I couldn’t find this one. It must have sold out, but here are a few other burgundy moto jackets that look just as fab.

Lovely outfit, you look fantastic! I wasn’t looking for that color jacket, but I wish I could find the one you are wearing.
Thanks for sharing this, I love the look!
Recent;y I was doing some window shopping and someone wanted to sell me a leather jacket (it was quite cute actually), but I declined, claiming ‘I’m too old for this’ (I’m approaching 45). Now seeing this gives me the ‘nudge’ I need to try it out.
Hi Evelyn, Fabulous! Leather jackets are very mainstream. You’re not too old to wear a leather jacket. A little bit of an edge (leather is edgy) makes you look modern! Cheers, Deborah
