After 40, 50 and beyond you want to look classy, you want to look chic, and you also want a look a little bit sexy. After all, you are still a vibrant woman, you’ve still got it! But how do you communicate that in a tasteful, grown-up-gal way?
Plunging necklines that dive desperately deep, or thigh high skirts designed for teenagers are not the answer. One of the best ways to look sexy and not silly is to buy yourself a pair of fabulous tall boots. Here’s a look at what’s out there this fall to make you look alluring and Age-Amazing!™.
Sure booties are great, but nothing beats a pair of classic, high, black leather boots. Michael Kors has a lot of beautiful ones out this fall ( including a pair I bought that you can read about in an upcoming post), but I think this one is my favorite.
It’s called the Caroline boot. It’s simple, solid, elegant and I just love that sexy ankle wrap with the gold MK logo. This boot looks very rich and at a height of 3.5 inches that’s not bad- I could handle that. Could you picture yourself in these?
If you’re the type of gal who likes the look of a tall boot, but a 3.5 heel is still too high for you then you may want to consider these. I picked them out because they have a much lower heel than the ones above.
At 2.5 inches you should have no problem walking around in these, plus they’re from Rockport, so you know they must be pretty comfy. They call them the 7-7 boot which is a great name because they will work day and night. They’re classy and simple, and those buckles up at the top are a nod to the military trend. What do you think?
This next boot is for the gal who likes something a little different. They’re the Flory Boot and they have a wedge ( 3 inch) , which can be quite comfortable compared to heels.
They’re suede and they’re color blocked which is a huge trend this fall making them more fashion forward and less classic. In other words, they could look a little dated after a few years. Nevertheless, I like them. They’re more casual than a plain black leather boot, but they’re mod. Like them?
If you love high heels and won’t settle for less than you’ll definitely want to test drive these babies. They have a sky-high 4″ heel, but here’s the thing – the platform makes them more bearable than you would imagine.
I saw these Michael Kors Ailee boots in person, but passed on trying them on because I already own a high pair, however, when a gal beside me tried them on and I saw how stunning they really were.
These studded boots are for woman with a touch of rock star in her blood. Their strong and sexy, but they’re not overboard. A good choice if you like an edgy vibe.
If you like a thicker heel + some height then try these Kavia tassel boots. They’re sleek and sexy, but sturdy too.
This is a great boot for work. It’s conservative, but the tassel zipper gives it just enough detail to keep it from being boring.
Let’s switch tracks for a moment and take a look at a very different boot. You’ve all heard about over the knee boots being in this fall?
Of course they’re not for everyone, but if you have the right attitude, you can definitely rock them after 40. I like this sleek suede boot that rolls on like a glove. If you go for this kind of boot choose one that’s fine and elegant, not heavy and clunky, otherwise you’ll end up looking like Julia Robert’s character in Pretty Woman + 30 years.
I like the lower heel which is a nice balance to the high shaft of the boot + the gold heel is elegant. It’s a dramatic boot that looks especially great in the evening. If you think these might be you…go for it!
Finally, Did you know that quilting is big this fall? Yes the Chanel style stitched look is hotter than ever. This quilted Lilianna boot from Rockport is a good bet if you want a boot with some texture.
They’re got a 3 inch stacked heel and elastic goring for comfort so they are a very practical as well as stylish boot. Would this be your taste?
Whatever boot you choose, they’re all hot! Throw a pair on and you can’t help but look instantly alluring. I’ve focused on black boots today because they’re always most popular but dark brown, burgundy, gray, navy or taupe are also being shown and look fabulous too.
