Fringe Knit Tank Is Hippie Chic
There’s been a strong boho vibe throughout fashion lately, and I’ve been enjoying incorporating touches of it here and there. A fun way to do that is with a fringe top. Here’s what I mean.
I’ve been looking at 70’s inspired fringe tank tops for a while. Most of them come in a natural color like off-white or beige and are knit or crochet tops. Here’s one I found recently that I really liked.
This ladylike fringe tank top is from Theory. It’s a semi-chunky knit with a pretty crosshatch texture. It’s soft and playfully edged with a flirty fringe.
This pullover is softer than pure white; it’s called shell white, and it’s creamy. I paired it with a pair of classic black cropped pants ( notice the chic slits at the ankles in photos below) -rather Audrey Hepburn-like!
You’ve seen these sexy heels before. I wore them before with my leather fringe skirt. The sassy ties go so well with anything fringe. They’ve got the same swingy feel when you walk that fringe does.
I went with black shoes the black pants because I wanted that long continuous line of color. It’s elegant and slimming. The pointy toe is sexy and makes my legs look longer too.
I’ve been admiring the black and blush pink combos I’ve seen around, which is why I added this pastel pink Rebecca Minkoff satchel into the mix. I love the black edging around the zipper, which gives it a bit of an edge. It is ever so slight, just enough to pick up the black in my pants and coordinate my look.
Do you remember how at one time, we would have likely gone with a red purse if we wanted to add some color to a black and white outfit? These days, pastel pink + black is much more modern. You can read more about the new pastels here.
I kept accessories simple for this shoot. I only added earrings and a couple of bangles because I wanted an elegant, understated look to highlight the fringe. But if you wanted to wear a necklace, you could. This top would also look great worn with jeans for a more casual look, guaranteed!
There are all kinds of these knit tanks in stores now. They’re a nice change from a regular tank and a fun way to get a bit of that boho feel in a classy way. See what you think and let me know.
I agree with your strategy of incorporating trends into your wardrobe, just a little here and a little there. I like to freshen up my wardrobe with an inexpensive trend item though I mostly wear classics since I am apple-shaped. I am very swayed by color trends, though!
