Is Quince Clothing Worth It? My Honest Review of their Jeans and Cashmere Sweaters

I kept seeing Quince everywhere — the $50 cashmere sweaters, the tailored jeans, the clean, minimalist pieces that promise luxury quality without the luxury markup. It almost sounded too good to be true.

I’ve ordered from Quince before (you may remember my dress and linen reviews), but this time I wanted to take a closer look at some of their most talked-about staples: the denim and the cashmere knits.

Since so many of you have been asking whether Quince clothing is actually worth it — especially for women over 50 who care about quality and fit — I decided to put these pieces to the test again.

Today I’m sharing what I really think after trying their barrel-leg jeans, straight-leg jeans, white jeans, cashmere sweaters, and ribbed cotton-cashmere knits. I’ll tell you what worked, what surprised me, and who I think Quince is best for.

What Is Quince Clothing?

Quince is a direct-to-consumer brand that cuts out the middlemen and claims to offer high-quality fabrics — like Mongolian cashmere and European linen — at lower prices.

You’ll see them compared to brands like J.Crew, Everlane, and even higher-end labels because their focus is on elevated basics rather than trendy statement pieces.

The big question is: does the quality match the hype?

My Honest Review of Quince Clothing

Let’s break it down piece by piece.

Stretch Wide Leg Jeans | top (not Quince)

1. Quince Wide Leg  Jeans

Wide-leg jeans can be tricky, but these were a pleasant surprise. They sit comfortably at the waist, have a smooth fit through the hips, and then flow into a classic, long leg that elongates the silhouette. The denim is substantial, so it holds its shape without feeling stiff. For women over 50, this cut feels elegant and modern, especially styled with a tucked-in top or a short sweater.

Verdict: A flattering wide-leg option that gives a polished, elongated look. For me, these and all Quince jeans fit true to size, so no guesswork needed!

2. Quince Barrel Leg Jeans

Barrel leg jeans can be tricky over 50. They add volume through the thigh and taper at the ankle, so proportions matter.

What I noticed:

  • The denim feels substantial, not thin or flimsy.

  • The rise is comfortable — not too low.

  • The leg shape is modern but not extreme.

For women our age, I would say these work best styled with a fitted or semi-fitted top to balance the volume. If you prefer classic silhouettes, this might feel trend-forward — but if you’ve been curious about barrel jeans, these are an approachable version.

To my surprise, I went from having no interest in wearing barrel jeans to suddenly liking them.

Verdict: Surprisingly flattering, thanks to the less severe barrel silhouette, when styled thoughtfully.

3. Quince Straight Leg Jeans

If you’re not into trends, these are the safer bet.

The straight leg jeans feel:

  • Structured

  • Clean through the hip

  • Polished rather than casual

  • Soft and comfy with a nice, true-to-size fit

The fabric has enough weight to smoothe without clinging, which I appreciate. They feel more refined than many fast-fashion denim options.

For women over 50, this is the silhouette that will be the most versatile.

Verdict: A solid everyday jean I really liked. I’m inspired to try more of their jean styles.

4. Quince White Jeans

White jeans can make or break an outfit — especially if they’re thin or transparent.

These:

  • Have decent structure and a flattering shape

  • Feel appropriate for spring and summer

  • Are mostly opaque

However, when I got close to the mirror, I could see the long front pocket linings showing through. Not dramatically, but enough that I noticed it.

For my personal taste, I prefer white jeans with just a little more thickness and structure in the pocket area, so you don’t see the pocket linings. Otherwise, the pocket linings need to be shorter.

Verdict: Good for the price, but if you prefer a heavier, fully opaque white denim, you may want more substantial denim.

Mongolian Cashmere Tee

5. Quince Mongolian Cashmere Sweater (Classic Tee+ Short Sleeve)

This is the cashmere tee sweater that I’m wearing with the barrel jeans. Cashmere is where Quince built its reputation.

The long-sleeve cashmere:

  • Soft

  • Lightweight but not tissue-thin

  • Clean, minimal shape

The short-sleeve version:

  • Perfect transitional piece

  • Great under blazers, but a little thin without a layering piece.

  • Feels polished but effortless

Is it Loro Piana? Of course not. Is it excellent for the price? Yes.

For women over 50, cashmere adds instant refinement. These pieces feel age-appropriate without looking matronly.

Verdict: The best value category from Quince.

Ribbed Cotton Cashmere Sweater

6. Ribbed Cotton Cashmere Sweater for Spring

This is the ribbed cotton cashmere sweater I’m wearing with the stretchy white, slim straight jeans. The shape is beautiful — it has a subtle architectural feel, with a soft dolman sleeve that gives it movement and structure at once. It’s not clingy, and it doesn’t collapse.

The color I ordered was a soft, pretty yellow — the kind of fresh shade that instantly feels like early spring.

It’s exactly the type of sweater that bridges the gap between winter and spring. Warm enough for chilly mornings, light enough to feel seasonal.

Verdict: One of my favorite pieces in this order.

Is Quince Clothing Good Quality?

Overall? Yes — especially for basics.

The fabrics feel better than typical mall brands at the same price point. The construction is clean. The silhouettes are simple and wearable.

What you won’t find:

  • High fashion details

  • Bold prints

  • Dramatic tailoring

Quince is about elevated essentials.

Is Quince Clothing Worth It?

If you:

  • Love minimalist styles that feel elegant

  • Want capsule wardrobe staples

  • Appreciate neutral, polished pieces

  • Prefer quality over trendiness

Then yes — it’s worth it.

If you’re looking for statement fashion pieces or dramatic silhouettes, you might find Quince too simple. It’s quite plain.

Is Quince Ethical?

Quince promotes sustainable sourcing and transparent pricing, and many of its fabrics are made from natural fibers such as cashmere, cotton, and linen. If ethical production matters to you, it’s worth reading their sourcing details directly on their website.

Who Is Quince Best For?

In my opinion:

✔ Women who like clean, classic style
✔ Women building a capsule wardrobe
✔ Anyone who wants affordable cashmere
✔ Those who don’t want to pay top-tier prices for denim and sweaters

For the price point, the quality is very good. You’re not paying designer prices, but you’re getting fabrics and construction that feel more elevated than typical fast-fashion brands.

If you love understated elegance and practical luxury, Quince makes sense.

Final Thoughts

Quince isn’t flashy, high drama fashion, or the ultimate in quality.

But for polished, wearable basics that feel elevated and grown-up? It’s quite good, and I’m glad to have found it.

For women 40, 50, and beyond who want quality and elegance without overspending, I’d say it’s definitely worth considering — especially the cashmere and denim.
