How to Style a Sequin Holiday Sweater
It’s already snowed here in Toronto, and it’s only November!
It happened on Remembrance Day. That’s unusual, so you know what that means?
It’s time to start the holiday party season!
I’m ready for a festive get-together in an outfit that I pulled together with some things from my closet and a couple of new pieces too! This great look all starts with this pretty, confetti sequin sweater. Does it look familiar?
I wore this sweater on the blog last year with some burgundy corduroy pants, and it was a big hit. It was so popular that Nordstrom brought this sweater back for a second year! It’s such a fun, sparkly top, and it looks great with jeans, dress pants, and skirts. I like this creamy white, but it also comes in beautiful magenta color and a lovely warm gray too!
Do you see all the glittering sequins? It’s like you’re squinting your eyes and looking at a shimmering Christmas tree with hundreds of soft twinkling lights!
My cozy, classy sweater is just as they call it – a classic round-the-clock festive top. It’s dressy enough to look fabulous with a pair of your favorite jeans. My new favorite jeans are these dark wash bootcut ones that I first wore with my new plaid jacket a few weeks ago.
How do you like the booties?
I went crazy over these black suede booties because of the glamorous, chunky gold heels. What a fantastic bootie for the holiday season. These suede beauties dress up any outfit.
As I mentioned earlier, last year, I wore this sweater on its own with skinny, burgundy, button-fly corduroy pants. This year I switched the cords out for my new jeans, then added this luxurious velvet jacket, which you saw me wear last year with black pants and a black top. To finish off my outfit, I picked up this darling new Kate Spade sparkle bag and these delicate Kendra Scott earrings.
This year’s look is a little more refined and elegant because there’s velvet, more sparkle, and shine. This is the perfect upscale casual outfit for any holiday party or event.
So Cheers to taking a couple of pieces I had and reimagining them into something new. It’s always a good feeling to recycle fashion instead of having something hanging in your closet that you don’t wear as much as you would like. I hope this has inspired you to look around at what you have and what you could add to it to look holiday party-ready this year.
Beautiful!
Thanks, Linda. This sweater has been super popular on the blog. I wore mine last night with my velvet blazer and black jeans out to dinner. It was perfect, dressy but not where I felt formal. That touch of sparkle is so festive this time of year and puts you in a good mood. I will probably wear this sweater on X-mas Day!
